Default Marque Madness April 28 - May 1, Laguna Seca

http://www.marquemadness.com/

As of this morning (just spoke with Dave Ray) there has been a revision to the Marque Madness registration form to include those that can only participate on Sat and Sun. It offers the same benifits and options as the full package for those days.

Weekend MarqueMadness Festival Admission Ticket (Sat/Sun only): ($105) – This ticket is for the festival participant who cannot attend the Thursday/Friday events. It includes a weekend ticket to the Grand-Am race, corral pass, and access to all weekend MarqueMadness activities

For further information see attached links.

If you haven't already done so, signup to be on the Marque Madness forum at:

Further update to Marque Madness.

The corral area for the Datsun/Nissan group has been set. The area of the green #3 just outside the turn #2 straight and across from the lake is the designated area. See map.

Good Day MarqueMadness fans – lots to read, but stay with it – its good stuff…
§ Yokohama Tire has joined our title sponsor Shell V-Power in promoting MarqueMadness. They are introducing their new DOT club racing/performance brand ADVAN, and they’ve jumped in with us in a big way!! First – each class winner at the Marque Club Autocross Shootout will receive a full set of ADVAN/Yokohama tires!! In sponsoring the MarquisMixer BBQ on Saturday evening – there will be many other opportunities to win sets of tires for clubs and members!! Here’s a biggie – If ANY MarqueMadness Festival ticket holder’s car at the event has Yokohama tires, they will receive a discount certificate for Yokohama or Advan tires, AND two tickets to the Monterey Sports Car Championships (ALMS) in October!! Talk about a smokin’ deal…
§ The Autocross Shootout format is finalized (see the activities section of the website for more details) – Thursday will be intra-marque competition and practice for finals – summarizing the format for the finals on Friday - it will be similar to “bracket” drag racing’s concept. Each driver will declare an anticipated average time of three runs on Friday. The closest in each class will win (including the tires) – with the victory party taking place at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Victory Circle – this will be awesome – and everyone has a shot, from the stock Miata to the modified Lotus. There will also be Top Time of Day Awards by class. By the way – the car on the pole for the event is a modified Porsche Speedster – which club is going to step up with a challenge for this inaugural shootout???
§ Road & Track Magazine steps up!! The editors of Road & Track magazine, sponsor of the Sunday race (which will be live at noon on Speed TV), will be perusing each corral to nominate cars for the “Car We Most Want to Drive” award. Nominees will be brought to MM Island, with the winner announced Saturday at the BBQ – a ceremony on Sunday in winner’s circle, and an article in R&T on the car – sounds like a blast…does your car have a shot?
§ Next – Another club has joined in – 20grit Euro – www.20grit.org “If you want to be smooth, you have to start rough – 20 grit – From VW’s to Mercedes all with an edge – Sick rides - mature guys” We’re excited to have 20grit – they’re a newer club and are using MarqueMadness as one of their first big get togethers…Welcome 20 Grit!!
§ Is your club organizing a get together in Monterey? The Ferrari Club has scheduled a dinner on Friday night at the very cool Baja Cantina in Carmel Valley. For those clubs who don’t have a dinner planned – the Ferrari gang is inviting you too!! Respond to this email if you’d like details – Thanks Kevin Enderby of the FCA – this is a very gracious offer…
There’s more but this is enough for this morning…Please pass on this info to your friends and club members….and thanks for your support of MarqueMadness!

Spoke with Dave Ray (the promoter) yesterday and the Nissan "Z" attendance is being overshadowed by all of the other makes --- even the PT Crusers. The corral is the best place on the track, don't let the other brands intimidate you.

Chris (thinking "what else are PT Cruisers good for but parking in a coral?")
