How much would forged rods and pistons cost?
And how much extra to install said parts?

Seriously tho, I was considering going FI down the line, maybe a year or so. However, with all this talk of group-buys, my best chance to do so may be now.

I'd rather do everything right the first time through. With the engine pulled (if they pull it), I might as well have them work on the internals as well.

I have no idea how much forged parts run and how much extra it is to install them. I'm just trying to figure out if this is even a viable option for me with the budget I have.

Anyone know?

Parts are not the expensive part. It is the labor costs to build a low compression engine. Rods and pistons are a couple of thousand. Cams, if you wanted them, would be another thousand. Cost of the turbo kit plus maybe five thousand or so in labor. You could spend $15-$25 grand easy.

After I get cams and an upgraded fuel system installed I will be around $15 grand, probably more, without a built bottom end. I don't really want to look at the receipts and find out the exact number...

But this should give you a good enough idea of what it could cost.

got a replied back from Tom. The price is typical as other selling vendor. Around 10K still. I thought this group buy could lower the price a bit. Guess i will wait again.

Hey Tom,

This deal is not bad but since I'm watching out for my fellow Zsters (especially here in Cali ), would you be able to beat/match the deal that Z1 offered in January for $8500 INSTALLED? This deal didn't even require a minimum of people to purchase (i.e. group buy). I'm sure if you offered at this amount, you'd have A LOT of business . Here's the link:

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....hreadid=105892

I would also be interested in purchasing just the kit itself & I'll be more than happy to pick it up from your shop too. So no worries for me on shipping costs. However, I am still curious if you are a certified vendor for APS. Meaning, if we purchase these from you, would APS support us if we ever run into issues such as missing/broken parts, etc...?

Thanks!

That's a pretty good deal there, I checked it out. Installed and dyno, to be at 100%. That's good to look into.

Hmm? Wonder why they didn't respond back to my post above since I know they've been posting on the other thread.
