Default OT: Visiting Monterey, CA.

I'm planning on driving down to Monterey sometime mid-April. It's been about 7 years since the last time I was there for my highschool field trip at the aquarium.

Debating if I should stay there for 1 or 2 nights. Which hotels would you guys recommend, restaurants, shopping, activities?? Any feedback would be great.

Thanks.

If you want to stay near the Aquarium check out the Monterey Plaza Hotel. It's only a couple of blocks away and there's a place called the Duck Club inside the hotel. If you are taking the Z try to schedule it around a track day and Laguna!

Lol, all this talk has made me want to go so I just booked the first weekend in April. Just a tip, plan well in advance if you stay here. Rooms tend to fill up quickly.

i'm living down here for the time being so i haven't stayed in any of the hotels. but, as far as location goes...the mariott and portola plaza hotels are really within walking distance of downtown monterey.

the aquarium is right off of cannery row, in new monterey. walking distance to some clubs/bars/restaurants but the downtown ones are a little more interesting.

if you're coming with a lady friend and want to chill, stay out in pacific grove at one of the small hotels or b&b's.

At the latter part of the month there is the Marque Madness event at Laguna Seca you might want to take in.
