Plenum spacer install party for Norcal
4myZ350,
I went with the 1/4" spacer so I could keep the strut bar and stock look (I doubt the cops or smog guys would even notice) and get the best bang for the buck.
In this graph it shows the comparison between 1/4" and 1/2" spacers to stock. The 1/2" only ends up marginally better, just a few hp more than the 1/4, while both have a considerable gains over stock. It just doesn't seem worth the strut bar issue for such a minor gain.

Your place would probably be perfect, I'll have a BBQ chicken breast with #3 Firehouse sauce and a Coke
When you say POOL are we shooting or swimming?
Chris

When are your finals? It won't be then.
We also need to wait until we know everybody has what they want, it wont work if we all stand around talking about the parts we wanted to install but have not received yet.
4myZ350
the price is less than 25 buyers / more than 25 buyer on the group buy. It looks like they have more, so it would be the lower price.
Chris
Cool--didnt want to sound like I'm rushing, I'm just very excited
.
Finals are pretty much the first week of may, but if necessary I'll still come to the bay (assuming its not a test day) because there are off days in between.
Thanks again!

Hey, Tony is already shipping these so if you are not on board and want one, get over there NOW, He said prices will never be this low again.
Some future Saturday will work best me with enough notice, I got Work stuff, Z stuff, Mini stuff and Wife stuff (not in order of importance) so it's a careful balance. Maybe the 30th of April, how does that work for you guys?
So far it looks like we have
1) HyperSprite (bringing tools and helping hand)
2) Bubble (spacer install)
3) GQ 350z (spacer install)
4) GTNPU Z (hang out)
4) 4myZ350 (spacer install)
Anyone else?
If the numbers stay low, we could do the installs, eat some lunch and go for a quick drive out on Camino Tassajara or something.
and message board tags too

Chris
I've installed so many of these things at GTG's and dyno days that I found the biggest help is a cordless drill with a 10mm socket.
Use it only to zip the bolts in and out. Use the lowest torque setting on the cordless. It is only to save you a lot of cumulative time bending over the car. You will notice after the 4th or 5th install your back muscles will be fried. So the cordless is a big help. It will save a lot of time from ratcheting and ratcheting and ratcheting and ratcheting.... And ratcheting and ratcheting and ....
Use a normal wrench, or torque wrench, to do the initial cracking and loosening of the bolts, then zip them out with the cordless.
When reinstalling the new longer bolts put them in by hand only 1 or 2 threads, zip them down with the cordless at minimum torque, then tighten to spec with your torque wrench.
Installation will go much faster and your back will appreciate it!
Tony
PS a 4mm socket won't always fit the Torx stud, but using a 4mm socket can save a lot of time removing them. The upsidedown nut trick works every time but is more time consuming.
