Plenum spacer install party for Norcal
I have the Moterdyne 1/4" plenum spacer and some of you have expressed interest in them. I have had my eyes peeled for a GB and there is finally one going on @ https://my350z.com/forum/questionable-posts/118670-motordyne-plenum-spacer-group-buy.html

The Motordyne XL 1/2" spacer price is $180.
The Motordyne XL STB and Hood spacer kit is $40

Limit 100 plenum spacer units.
Here is my offer, since I have the tools (even an inch pound torque wrench) and experience installing these (I even wrote the how-to http://www.hypersprite.com/auto/tech-z-002/index.asp ), I am willing to help anyone in Norcal install their spacer. The goal is to do as many of these in one day as possible and because a lot of the work is simple wrench turning, even the novice "I don't even know what a torque wrench is" can do quite a bit of the work and get that great feeling of accomplishment for a job well done. I am pretty sure we could do 4 or 5 in an hour.
Norcal Tune-In
What we'll need is someone willing to host an install party in a nice driveway in a central location in the bay area that we can all meet at for an install party on some date to be determined in this thread.
I'll bring the tools.
Everyone else bring their spacers.
* More information on the spacers
The 1/4" spacer will fit under the stock strut bar with the strut bar spacers provided in the kit. This looks nearly stock on a Z and has no "bling" factor.
The 1/2" will fit under the strut bar with the strut bar spacers and optional hood lift kit is installed.
They all fit the G35 with no strut bar.
For other questions on the spacers, ask Hydrazine, he's the brains behind MOTORDYNE ENGINEERING.COM
HyperSprite is not affiliated with MOTORDYNE ENGINEERING in any way other than being a satisfied customer who wrote an install how-to. My experience with Hydrozine was top notch and I have heard no end user negative feedback from anyone on his product or service.

If I get the AAM can I still come? I'd love to have a reason to meet you guys.
EDIT: Although I'm in stockton, my driveway is huge and we can all meet up there. We can take some nice pics etc too, just a thought if you guys wanna drive up

Sure, just make sure you have all the nuts, bolts and whatever. I know the MD kit is complete but I don't know about the AAM, check with the others who have done the install already so we don't run into any surprises.

I think we need to keep the date open until we find out if, who, and when others will have their spacers in hand.
It would also be nice to have an east bay, possibly Pleasanton or Union City, place to do the install so most people don't have to drive more than an hour to get there.
Wouldn't it be neat to do the installs in the parking lot of Modacar and do back to back dynos, that would settle a lot of this my plenum is better than you plenum stuff too. But it would cost us money and who wants to spend any of that. If someone else wants to look into that, feel free, it is beyond the scope of what I can take responsibility for at the moment.

Should I get the 1/4" or the 1/2" spacer?
OR should I wait till the APS plenum comes out?
I just cant decide...I might say screw it and get sway bars LOL or a camber kit...
*nor cal, you be the judge*
WWNCD? (What would nor cal do?)
Seriously though,

as they said, 1/4 only give you a tiny gain but you can keep everything stock. 1/2 will require you to get rid of the strut bar or you will need the spacer for the strut bar. They also recommend to use the hood spacer to help divert the hot air when you are tracking.
I'll order 1/2 spacer with strut bar spacer.

If we can't get Modacar, I'll do it at my house in San Ramon. A Sat. is best.
