I posted this in the off-topic section but figured I'd ask you guys as well.
I'm looking at buying this TV:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1077628470324
It's $1800 at Fry's.
It's the older model that samsung is phasing out. I don't watch that much TV, so I'm thinking I should be OK with this model.
Anyone have any reason that I shouldn't buy it?
-edit- Also, if I buy this TV, that means I can't buy the watch I wanted (Tag Carrera).
So lemme know if I should buy the TV or the watch.

Hurry up and buy yours Tony. If you buy it, then I won't buy it. And if I don't buy it, then I can use that money towards FI.

John,
I was looking at the HLP and got the HLN (newer model). Depends how bright your room is, the HLP has a contrast ratio of 1:1000 whereas the HLN is 1:1500. I love mine and you've seem it. I don't think you'll go wrong either way.
Tele Center in San Mateo will beat any advertise prices. Go check with them. My family and friends all buy TVs from them.

Thanks for the tip Moodie! The upcoming HLR model will have a contrast ratio of 2500:1, so I'm starting to think it may be better if I hold off on buying a TV.

"O" I just got a 34" LCD Philips widescreen at Fry's with damage on the top for 427$ . it is high in the garage so you can't see the damage. & I bought the3yr. warranty because it's in the garage. (40 F to 100+ F)
