What is a boba and why is it $1?

Some call it Boba, some call it bubble, and most in the Bay Area call it pearls. It's giant Tapioca put into your drink so you can choke.....I mean chew and eat while you drink. They're usually $2.50 and above, and I guess it's a promotion / grand opening sale, so it's $1.00 per drink.

 

It's a drink with these jelly ***** at the bottom.

When you suck on the long straw, the ***** go into your mouth. I've never tried it, I don't swing that way, but other members here love the *****. They like it's taste and texture. I don't feel the need to experiment and try it, so I'll just take their word for it.

 

I like 'em *****. They tasty. They chewy.

 

You know you've tried it, and you know you like it John!!

just a quick question: are you the owner of that new place? or just promote for them? is Tapioca Express has franchise system?

 

Yes it's a franchise. I inquired and pre-qualified with them a few years ago. I couldn't find a decent location at the time so I kind of lost interest.
