Thought everyone might want to know, they said they will be out for 10 days. This was on Monday. Also the new price is $4.59 Gal.

I spoke to another guy seeking 100 oct. I found two more locations.

Dunne Ave, there is a 76 station there. He said that in the back of the store or cashier they have a barrel of 100 oct that they pump in your tank for you.

Page Mill in Palo Alto, I didn't get all the details as this would be way out of my way and I'd almost never go there.

That's as I suspected...the 100 doesn't seem to go up as much as the 87,89,91 variety...

Eventually when gas is 3.50 a gallon for 91 (not so far from that now) I'll be on a strictly 100 octane diet....at least for my z32 anyway.

did anyone notice that a tank of 100 octane seems to last longer than a tank of 91? maybe it's just the gas fumes getting to my head....

 

100 burns slower...

Because of this, it adds more of a punch and you spend less time giving your car increased throttle as you find you already have the momentum you need.

Basically, your car will have to work harder to accelerate on 91 **** water as opposed to clean, slow-burning 100 octane.

That being said though...I hear that in terms of pure WOT performance, "over octaning" your fuel set up will ultimately cause your performance to suffer (compared to just getting enough octane for your set up).

In my case...100 octane doesn't last as long. Raising boost to 23psi and smashing out all day long is just too much fun.

I just found out about the 100 octane shortage at Foxworthy myself yesterday.

Another option you may consider is in Redwood City. There's a Unocal off of Woodside Road, left hand side, past El Camino that sells 100 octane too. Typically, it's within $.10 of the Foxworthy station. My Audi buddies filled up there last night.

 

this is a great thread guys. I didn't know there were so many 100 octane resources in the bay. I only knew about the 76 station in sj.

Sure beats running leaded 116 and killing my o2 sensors just for a few more psi.

Im sure everyone knows about the Infineon Raceway gas as well.

They have 96 but its more expensive than the 76 100oct. As well as 100, 114 and 117 i think?

Everytime I go to the Foxworthy 76 i keep mentioning that they should get 96 race gas. Maybe it will finally sink in. If they can get 100 then I don't see why they can't get 96 Oct or 94. Everyone who goes there should inquire about it so maybe we can get it.

 

You might try the 76 in Morgan Hill on Dunne and Monterey, if you really need it. I know they sell it.

 

They have 100 again, just put some in.

 

Keep putting that 100 octane Bruce. 91 gas sucks but i dont need 100 octane anymore. The way gas prices are going up i might as well start buying 100 octane as well. Since maybe the price of 91 will come close to the price of 100 octane.. Enjoy those those turbos Bruce.

ARE they using a can/barrel or at the pump? If barrel/can then it's most likely V.I.P. gas and 96octane is a BIG problem W/ CAL LAWS.

Months ago "76" racing fuel was sold. They told me that they were having a BIG problem gettin to sell the racing fuel in Cal. that VIP had taken there distributor & they could not find any co. to distribute for them .

interesting...i heard something about that...but i thought that only applied to the NHRA's choice of official race fuel for their events...

Perhaps it does affect our pump 100 :P

 

96 Oct comes out of the pump at the raceway. It was 4.59 a gal. 100oct at Almaden and Foxworthy is the same price.
