Arvin needs help on Plasma TV......
Well, I have this really old Mitsubishi Projection TV. My wife says "NO" to buying a new plasma TV unless the old projection TV dies first. And this mother****en old TV just won't mother****en die. I have already gotten my 2 and 4 year olds to bang on the TV on a regular basis and still this mother****en old piece junk won't die. Do you guys have any ideas how to kill a TV? MY wife is pretty good with electronics so I can't just unplug it and say that it's broke.
My other solution is to buy a plasma at Costco. Then borrow some of my buddies house to store it. Of course they can use it too. Then after a month or two, when the plasma TV is all dusty and "used", I will then tell my wife that my buddy is selling it to me for a very good price. Do you guys think that will work?

Let me know which one you want to buy, I might be able to get good price for you.
For the storage, depends on how big you want to go. If it's 60" or bigger, you can leave it at my house, if it's smaller, leave it at John's.

Keep a strong magnet by the screen for an extended period of time. This should warp the colors and you can tell your wife it is "broken." The TV might go back to normal after a while.

Well, I got my LCD by having my wife with me when I was shopping for something else. When you're out just come up with an excuse to stop.
Once my wife saw the picture quality (HDTV) compared to our old 35" tube she was sold. Hell she even did the research on which one to buy while I was on a business trip.
Gosh I love her

if ya got the money, go with LCD.. they have waayy better picture quality than plasma and it will last a lot longer..
i have seen many plasmas and not all have good picture quality. my homie who has a plasma (i dont know maybe 60") regrets buying his. i saw his tv and i could see what looks like pixels even from far away.. and the glare really sucks on em.
only drawback of LCD is that it costs more than plasmas inch for inch

Do you have any "needy" family or friends? Especially on her side of the family? Offer to give away your existing one because, well, they could use a new TV & can't afford one as easily as you.
We gave our 35" to a friend who only had a 19". If you're helping family or friends it makes them feel good that they're doing something nice for someone they care about.
You may win some brownie points as well.

The 37 doubles as my PC monitor in the family room.

or get a car battery and jumper cables and tap the plug of the TV to short circuit that $hit, or just tell me when you going to leave your front door open!!
