Default just saying hello

posted about the front grill advice, but forgot to introduce myself first. I apologize for that.

I'm going to be moving to the bay area in January. I'm going to be doing the pre-opening for Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley on University Drive in Palo Alto. I start January 16th, so I will probably arrive a few days prior.

Hope to finally see some of you at local meets and such. I can't wait!

welcome to Nor Cal. Be sure to come out to some of the meets and say hi to everyone. The Nor Cal group is getting pretty large (when we actually show up ). Good luck on the move.

failsafe - yea I'm really looking forward to the meets down there. Up in Vancouver, we only have meets for Z's AND G's all together...there would be like 15 G's and 4 Z's...pretty sad compared to you guys lol...

Waz up,

Welcome to Norcal. Watch out for Tony (bz8), he is a fockin' biatch.

Are you going to have problems registering your car here in CA? I thought you need to have your car inspected by a DMV employee when it is coming from out of state/country. You may not pass the visual inspection if that is the case.

When I bought a car a few years back, I have to go thru this process. That's why I am giving you a heads up.

Jondimellow- Sweet. The more 350z'ers the better!

Yobri- Thanks bro! Thanks for all your help so far!

You might want to rethink this... I work 5 minutes away from you (also in PA) and two of my co-workers commute from SF.

One starts at 6am (to cover the East Coast hours) and she has no problems with the commute. It takes her about 40 minutes to get to work in the morning. The other starts at 8am... but she can never make it in on time. Yesterday, her commute was 1.5 hours!

So, unless you like long commutes in traffic or if you can change your schedule around, I would really consider living closer.

damn...I have no clue which properties are better...I need a safe neighborhood, newer apartment building with facilities like washer/dryer in unit, and most importantly, a gated indoor garage for my Z........and I have no clue where to start. been searching online forever already...

WTF Arvin?!?! Arvin's the real biatch!! As you can see Nitrouz, us NorCals are a pretty crazy fun group. Except Arvin, he's pretty boring, that's why we don't call him for meets.

Anyways, Welcome!!

Check craigslist:

http://www.craigslist.org/pen/apa/

These listings are for apartments in the Peninsula (between SF and SJ). Areas like Redwood Shores or Foster City have nice places and aren't too far. About a 30 minute commute with traffic.

If you wanna be closer to the city, you could check out Millbrae, Burlingame, San Mateo, South San Francisco. You won't have trouble finding nice places to live in, in these cities.

Places to stay away from:
East Palo Alto - this is the ghetto
Daly City - ALWAYS foggy and windy, even during summer
Pacifica - same as Daly City, maybe worse

Welcome to the Bay Alex!

DO NOT live in SF and communte to PA.... That would test your patience every day, to and from work.

You might want to try Fremont, Newark, Union City if you can't find something that makes sense in the Palo Alto, Menlo, Atherton, Cuppertino area... You'd have to cross the dumbarton bridge every day but PA is just a few miles from there.

2004z: Yea I checked craiglist already...saw a few, then checked www.apartmentratings.com and had some bad reviews...so it's hard for me to choose...

Thanks for the heads up of the locations to go to and to avoid. Really appreciate it.

RNL323: Thanks for those cities...I'll definitely look into that when I get down there. I just want a nice secure apartment for a decent price, which seems nearly impossible in California lol... And I want a nice view...:P

i just moved to Foster City a couple weeks ago and it seems like a safe quiet neighborhood. there are garages at my apartments but only with selected floor plans (Fosters Landing apartments) there is an avalon right by us also. My wife works in PA at the Stanford University Hospital. The commute for her is about 20 minutes or so. So foster City might be a good place for you to look.

oh and apartmentratings.com shows bad ratings for every apartment complex so you really just have to make the decision for yourself after looking at the places

Alex, Tony (bz8) is really a biatch. He is the only norcal guy who has had a gender reassignment. He can look like a guy.........sometimes, so don't let that fool you.
I think you will like the people here in norcal.............you might even begin to like Tony after a while.

Welcome! Walt
