i have researched this a little, but i cant find a definative answer....

how loud is this clicking. does it sound like small rocks being thrown into the wheel well (sp)?? my car sounds like its throwing rocks into the rear wells alot. its annoying, but im not sure if its anything more than actual rocks being thrown. i have stock tires (track wheels) and 11k miles.

also my rear tires are feathering, but the fronts dont appear to have any problems. will a dealership replace my tires for rear feathering... all i have ever heard about was front tires feathering.

i think i am going to take this to the dealer but i wanted to see what you guys had to say first. what dealers are close to foster city? i havent lived here long so im not familiar with the area. any help is appreciated

mine is going in tomorrow at falore as well. I waited for my parts and they finally came in. So how long did it take them to fix it once the parts arrived Corsair?

It should take them less than a day to get it done.

They took it apart knowing they didn't have the parts?

I have a rear squeaking noise in my suspension. Is anybody anybody else experiencing that? Started when I started using 19" wheels.

Or is this normal?

No, this is more an issue with NNA not supporting their dealer chain. It was my choice to leave the car at the dealership until the parts arrived. Falore is 120 mile round trip for me, but they are mod friendly so I take it to them.

I took my car in for the "rear click" they said they know about it, it happens on almost every car and all they do is oil some parts....at least thats what they told me, I had it back the next day.

I had another clicking from the rear, but this time I found it was that plastic peice on the hatch, one of the plastic screws came loose and I just hit it and it popped back in. Do some experimenting with your car, open the hatch and push down on the car, hit your hatch and listen for squeaks, this is how I found the loose plastic bolt causing a sqeak. Now my car is rattle free.

Bubble, my suspension is all stock. It squeaks when the car is on uneven ground, but only the rear passenger side suspension.

I didn't think that fixed the "clicking" noise. I thought they had to replace some parts.

Just started get a clicking sound this morning on my way to work... The streets around my work and my ladys work (we carpool) are all f'd up so I thought something got stuck in my wheels or underneath my car, which wouldn't be the first time.

When I finally parked in my lot, I checked wheels and underneath and nothing was lodged.

Is the same sound you guys got? How safe is it to drive around like this? I'm calling Nissan in a minute....

Its the axles bolts that are on backorder, not the grease. Im sure the porters will have fun with your TT...

Update....

So I didn't have the "rear-clicking"

The problem was a huge piece of shrink wrap plastic got tangled around my draft shaft from top to bottom. It was wrapped in there tight. Some if it melted onto my y-pipe! Another portion was around the diff.

I tried to drive it afterwork yesterday since most people said it was driveable. But the sound got so loud and was shifting from the rear to to the center of the car. I was about 2 miles from work and decided to pull off and get it towed home. When the tow truck came and got my z half way up the flat-bed I saw the plastic shredded and hanging from the shaft. We pulled the majority off but there was still quite a bit on there we couldn't reach.

Anyway, I got underneath this morning and got it all out. BUT when I went for a test spin, it was still clicking. As I accerlated the clicking got faster and louder... Similar to the sound you guys described. WTF?!? I went back underneath and didn't see any more plastic left.

Frustrated, I called Serramonte Nissan but they were only taking oil changes and didn't have time for someone to get it on a lift and check what's going on... Best they could do was get me in Monday at 9am

Instead of sitting around and waiting for Monday and wondering WTF?!... I called Ted @ Scott Performance. Within an hour, Ted was underneath my car and helping me figure out what was going on.

Turns out the plastic wrapped around an e-brake line and pulled it loose. When the shaft rotates, the line was tapping on it. Also, one of the bolts that secure the shield under the gas tank snapped off. The shield was flopping around down there and probably added to the noise some how. Ted fixed the line then the bolt and I was out of there in about 1.5 hours.

There is a lot of construction where I work. I don't remember seeing any plastic in the road that I could have avoided. There were a lot of trucks with construction materials parked everywhere so I assume some of the shrink wrap/plastic packaging got loose somewhere and got sucked up underneath my Z. All of a sudden that sound kicked in and I thought the worst...

Mad, crazy, insane props to Ted @ Scott Perfromance!!! He was working on another car today and was going to head to Tahoe and took time out to help me with this FREAK occurence.

Good luck to you guys with getting your clicks out!
