Default shop to install 3.9fd??

I am closing on a track edition Z this weekend if everything goes smoothly, and i want to have a 3.9fd installed. are there any reputable shops here to do it.

I just moved here a couple weeks ago, so all my shop hookups are in PHX AZ. I need someone that will do a good job, and i will use them for everything. I am in foster city so the closer the better, but if the good shops are farther, i will drive farther.

What kind of price am i looking at for an install like this. I might go ahead and buy a flywheel (or flywheel/clutch combo) to be installed at the same time.

Thanks guys,

Mike

I highly recommend Z car garage. They are great in what they do and love the Z. Give Rob a call. 408-452-0350

I had mine done @ Zcargarage. The diff was actually sent out though.

You can try Scott Performance too. Definately go w/ someone who knows their stuff.

It cost me $640 for the labor.

I was pretty happy w/ the job Z car did. Great group of guys there.

Here are somethings to consider.

Scott Performance is closer to you and do the work "in house." My car would have been done two days quicker if the differential wasn't shipped out. Also, the labor would have been 100 less because that's how much shipping was. Rob @ Zcar has a guy he's used for years for diffs, so he is comfortable working with him. The guy did a great job because I have almost NO noise from the change in gears.

Either place you choose, the car will be in "good hands."

okay, who do you guys talk to at these shops? someone said Rob at ZCG, but who at Scotts?? I would prefer to use Scotts if they are good with the Z and they dont have to ship it out... especially since that should make it cheaper. i think i will have them install a flywheel at the same time too.
