Default Mt Hamilton FYI

This last weekend I drove up to the top of Mt. Hamilton from the Livermore side with some of my Mini friends. When we got to the top, there was a ranger up there, standing at the rails watching people come up the hill.

All was good as we parked and went on in to the facility.

When leaving my buddy, who happened to be leading, was stopped by the officer and given a talking to.

My friends Mini is not all that loud but he is running a UK plate. He was told there have been complaints from the residence, astronomers that sleep in the day time and work at night, of excessive noise from exhaust and sound systems during the day. He said they will be cracking down on front plate, exhaust noise and other vehicle violations to try and curb the excess noise and he should consider this his last warning.

None of the rest of the group is all that loud either and happen to be running front plates and we were not stopped.

We may want to go bug someone else for a while, there are lots of cool roads around, let the heat die down a bit on Mt. H.
