Default How many have the front license plate on their Z? Got a ticket for it!

I always thought the front license plate on the Z ruins the looks of the front end. that's why I resisted having it on my Z for a long time thinking I'll never get a ticket. Well I guess my luck ran out the other day and for what, a stupid parking meter in San Francisco. I can't believe they hit me with $100 fine for the front license plate along with the parking meter fine
sooo annoying - Anyways, I just ordered the Stillen front bracket for my Z, at least I don't have to drill holes in the bumper. So take care guys, your luck might run out as well........ I still hate the way it looks with the front plate

Never got one in SF thank goodness, but I've gotten 3 so far. First time I really didn't have plate on the front. 2 other times I was coming home from the track and got dinged on the only road that leads in and out of my neighborhood. Damn I hate when I forget to put the plate back on. Oh and the Stillen design is just like the one I have. Prob the cleanest way to mount a plate I've seen.

SF is the most notorious place for front plate violations. Absolutely 0 problems in the East Bay, and occasionally in the North Bay and Peninsula areas.

I don't run a front plate, but I've been lucky in the Z (when in SF) so far.

Yea, I agree that the front plate ruin the line of the Z, and most cars for that matter. SF raised their fine from $25 to $100 for no front plates. I think it's ridiculous, and I hate it. I'm glad I sold my place in SF and bought a place in Concord, so I no longer have to pay my taxes to SF. I never seen a place so backwards.....good riddens SF!!

I've had my ZR for 18 months now and have never had the front plate on. I received a ticket in L.A. (Venice beach) about 6 months ago. A parking enforcement person cited me for parking in a day and time restricted zone and added a second ticket for "no front plate". I never had to "fix it" and get a cop to sign off on it. I just had to pay the fine. What a *****! Two fines.

? -- If you put the front plate in your FRONT window when in S.F. does that cover it.

They separate the violations on several tickets instead of putting all the violations on one ticket to show a greater number of tickets at the end of their shift. TRUTH!! By law, quotas are illegal, but there's the real world

SF is f'd up when it comes to the front license plate.

If SFPD gets you, its a $10-$15 fix-it ticket.....

If DPT gets you, then it's $100 and no "fix it" option.....

One time I had an expired meter and they hit me with no front plate as well for a grand total of $140!

AND, true to the quote above, I had 2 seperate tickets for the 2 violations!

That's true, the DPT gave me a $100 fine with no fix it option and a parking meter fine of $40 as well!! money that is better spent on a mod instead.

I go to SF a lot so I guess I should have it installed just in case.
Although SF in general is not a Z friendly city....

That's why I don't even put license plate on. The Z still looks new and it can easily pass for a new car, as long as you still have the window temp registration card.

Get real. One of the first things I did was put the front on. I KNOW when I get that first speeding ticket it was gonna' be a double-dip. Sorry it looks so bad but it's better than flushing money down the toilet. Make friends with it, my friends.

LOL. I know huh?

As long as I've had my car (April 2003), I've never had my front plate on with no issues (knocks on wood). I also never bring my car to the city (SF) because it's definitely not an ideal place to be parking your nice car. Driving yes, but definitely not parking. It's a good thing I can use my GF ride to go around SF .
