Me either, but I know SF is bad if you don't have one. I didn't have one on my SC400 for 5 years with no problem and I even parked that car in SF.

I've only had my car for like a month and a half and haven't got a license plate ticket yet. I got a speeding ticket 2 weeks after i got it but the cop didn't notice that i was missing the front plate. Not gonna put it on till i get caught (knock on wood).

Same here, they never ever gave me a problem when driving the same car. Now my Civic would bring attention to the lack of a front plate like crazy though

Anyone know a different vendor who carries the lic plate holder that screws into the tow hook mounting point? Stillen charges a lot for this and the vendor I got my last one from is no longer around. Unfortunately I was pulling into the garage and didn't see the moving boxes, tapped the front plate, ruining the lic plate mount. So now I need another one

If DPT gets you, then it's $100 and no "fix it" option.....

One time I had an expired meter and they hit me with no front plate as well for a grand total of $140!

AND, true to the quote above, I had 2 seperate tickets for the 2 violations!

I got these tickets twice and all you have to do is put back the plate within 30days of the ticket. Then go to SFPE and after officer looks at over, they will sign the ticket for you. Then take the sign ticket to DPT on Howard and you only have to pay $10. You pay $100 if you don't fix it. If you look at back of the ticket, there will be a signature line.

I've had the front plate holder invented by one of our members for over 2 years. It looks really clean and the only problem I had was that the dealer had already drilled the holes for the standard holder. So I had to fill them in and touch up. It looks alright but you can see them if you look closely.
