Default How to ship a bumper?

I'm planning to ship a bumper and I was wondering how I would go about doing that. I have found a shipping company and everything, but I am having trouble finding a box and packaging supplies that could fit a car bumper. Anyone know of a place that sells verrry large boxes and packaging supplies? Thanks

this might sound ghetto but you can always get ALOT of bubble wrap and wrap the entire bumper.

Try U-Haul or a storage/moving place, they have all kinds of boxes and anything else you might need. Depending on the size and curvature of the bumper, something like a wardrobe box would probably work. I've shipped a couple things in wardrobe boxes before and usually the box costs like 11 bux, and if you need it smaller you can just make adjustments to the box.

you can just go to Uhaul and get some of their big boxes. Then you cut and take them together and use strapping to hold everything secure.

Or go to a furniture stores warehouse and ask for some big boxes (which they have ****loads of)

lots and lots of bubble wrap. I have shipped them in the past and nothing happened to them. Still it is smart to opt for the insurance.

Go to a location golf store and get a couple of iron set boxes, you can get them for FREE. Because I used to work at the Golfmart in South San Francisco.

What shipping companies are you guys using? I'm gonna opt for DHL but if my box goes over 70 inches long then they won't let me ground ship it and it will cost me AOT more. My box will probably be around 73 inches long or so, are they strict with the measurements?

DHL sucks! They loose so much **** it is crazy. And trying to file an insurance claim with them is a nightmare.

I would pay a little more and use UPS. Just my 2 cents though.

where you ship to? within CA? there is a freight truck company in Oakland. Fast and cheap. If you ship via DHL or UPS, buy insurance for it. This is why i love to do local sell with bodykit stuff.

Fedex is the way to go--- I have friends that work for UPS and they do not give a sh!@ about peoples packages, having one person unloading a truck all by himself..

fed-ex ground is the cheapest i've found.
very convenient too as they are located in kinkos (open 24hrs)

i've shipped large exhausts through them and they never had a problem with it. although the kinkos employees hate helping me carry the boxes.
