Default SUPERIOR NISSAN in FREMONT/NEWARK

i was at the dealer today! it was my 3rd gear grind..so they are replacing me with a Brand new Tranny, clutch, and pressure plate! WOoOHOoO they said they are going to put a 06 tranny..or a NEW tranny at least! I cant wait to test it out..he said it should be in about early next week on Monday or Tuesday! i never driven a 06 tranny is it really that great!? has anyone change there tranny from 03 to a 06? because i was just on the other thread they are all talkin about how smooth the tranny is on a 06 and blah blah...i was thinkin let me to the math : RAW HP on a 03 + a 06 tranny = HOLY ****! speed?

~~UPDATE~~ back from the dealer..

well everything went great! they order me a new tranny, clutch, pressure plate...anyways to all my bay area people if you guys are having problems with your Z please. Visit SUPERIOR NISSAN in FREMONT/NEWARK! ask for TODD or DOUG! they are GREAT!!!! they fix my fuel hose, and the grease mark...so anyways they will not question you on anything wrong with the car they believe every word you say and work on it! anyways if you guys have any problems with your car let them know...

(they paid me 1 million dollar to say all that) hahahah no honestly there good folks, any recall problems with ur Z let them know!

when its COLD or the car is not warm up fully..when u put it in 3rd it grinds... a lot of people told me when u go from 5th to 3rd grinds...but normally it grinds when the tranny is cold and its not suppose to do that. what year is your Z? usually they will not question you..they will look at the year of ur car if its a 03 they are just going to order you a new tranny with out any questions. talk to doug or todd...those are the two Service writers are very cool with me so yeah..they should be cool..

I did go there to test drive a ZR before I bought mine. They were really friendly, and took the one down off a pedestal display (as it was the only touring with NAV). I had written up no paperwork, showed anyone my license, or anything. They just let me take off. I was totally impressed (though I bought mine from a dealer in SoCal for a better deal).

I *hate* to say anything negative, after you had such a good experience. For pre '06 ZR's, the notch on one of the rolly bars is square. This can cause a tear, over time. I went to Superior Nissan (to diagnose the tear in my top). After having a good test drive experience I figured they would be quite good in all areas. I stopped by Hayward Nissan 1st, but found they were closed when they went up in flames.

There was an older big guy (reminded me of Porky from the movie) and a young guy there around 5pm. The young guy seemed like a trainee (as he had no idea what to do). As I was standing there, the older guy was like
"tell him that we can't authorize that kind of work. The manager is away for 2 weeks."

I am standing in between both guys when the guy said that. The young guy starts to repeat it, and I'm like
"I heard him. Thanks but no thanks." I was pretty pissed off about that. I haven't gone back there for service. So it appears YMMV when visiting them. I'm glad they gave you a good shake z33boi.

I took my car to Connell Nissan in Oakland, the next day (on my way to work). They took pictures to document the wearing and had a new top shipped out that day. Sinc then, I've had them do all my work. I have no idea how they feel about mods, but they do detail with every service, so far. They also let me bring in synthetics for my fluid changes.
