i don't think u can get any major discounts on ordering. -maybe- $250 below msrp. but definitely not $1600 below MSRP like i did. (the sticker price for mine was 34605, i paid 33 flat)

good luck..

but.. regardless though, i would definitely deal w/ northbay dealers. they seem to have a more Zs available, and they are more willing to negotiate.

example:
i had to laugh at the salesguy that was at the infiniti dealership on steven's creek blvd telling me about the $15k markup that was on every g35 coupe that they sell. (or wait 6 months)

he said it's standard policy, i told him that the salesman that i buy the car from had to suck my dick -> one of my "standard policies". i don't think he liked it. oh well, not like i am going back there to buy a car anytime soon..
Which dealership did you get your deal through, mobilebudda? I bought my Z from Boardwalk Nissan for under MSRP, but if the dealership you worked with is willing to sell for 1600 under, I'm going to tell my coworker to get it from there.

Sixteen hundred under MSRP is a good deal.

But what was the mileage on the car? Had it been brought in from another dealership?

just to clarify things:

the car had like 30ish miles on it. i didn't think this would be a problem because i saw about 5-6 different cars from various other dealerships and they all had around 20-50 miles on them.

it's a canadian car. they imported from a canadian dealer. so the san rafael is the "1st owner" of the car.

but since it's a dealership, there wouldn't be any issues w/ the resale value..

and they added an additional year of bumper to bumper warranty on my car. ( instead of the normal 3 year, i got 4 yrs/48k miles, you all got 3 yr bumper-bumper right? )

but, regardless.. i had a very positive experience w/ that dealership.

here are the people that i spoke w/:
Wisal - general manager, very nice and approachable guy

Sammy - dunno what he does.. lol but he's also friendly, he's ordering thek eys for my car, somehow they lost my key, remote and the valet key.

Kenny - the sales guy that i spoke with, didn't give me much ******** at all, also very friendly

Adam - great guy, he's their finance guy. didn't give me any run around on the purchase, i never bought a new car before, well, i've never bought a car before, so he took about an hour and half just to explain things to me, on some of them literally item by item and asked me like every 2 minutes if i am following what he's talking about. (there were like 20 or so signatures that i had to sign.. )

also, i was looking at a couple of the other models that they had that were "their cars", one of them was a base model, the other was a touring model w/ everything+nav, they were willing to go a little below MSRP. but nothing like 1600 though. since i wanted to install my own dvd+nav system later all.

hope this helps.

Interesting, how did they end up with a Canadian car? So was the car considered used (hence the lowered price and extra warranty?) But a "used" car with 30 miles from a dealer is not really "used", excellent way to get a deal on it.

I agree: the management at San Rafael is completely professional and the sales experience very satisfying.

As you say, Wisal is the general manager, Samay the general sales manager, Adam the floor manager and one of the finance officers, Aaron the other finance officer, and Kimo is in charge of detailing.

A very good experience for me, as well, although I wish they would have extended MY warranty for a year.

AND you got a block heater!

(Interestingly, there is an article in today's paper about a suit being brought against Nissan, and other manufacturers, for the disparity in pricing between cars sold in Canada and the United States. Apparently, similar models cost less in Canada, and it may be that San Rafael passed on their savings to you.)

As I understand it, all Canadian cars have a block heater for cold weather. See if there is a power connection in the front behind the grill.

Turn on the block heater, open hood, insert pizza, close hood.

The above are instructions for use of block heater on Z in Cali.
