Default Any hope for under MSRP?

Any of you guys think there's any hope for getting a Z in the Bay Area for under MSRP?

It seems like more and more dealers are doing it on the east coast (bad weather...)

But a lot of dealers here still seem to be charging some sort of mark-up?

Maybe later in the year, or do I have to wait until the 2004's arrive and deal on a 2003 model?

One of the guys in the Sacto area posted he got a Z at below MSRP. I think the dealer was Future Nissan in Roseville. No idea if he had to compromise on model, color or accessories to get below MSRP.

Always worth a phone call.

Remember, the principle of supply and demand.
I just bought a new 350z, here on the East Coast, for 1K under invoice/4K off msrp, which means the dealer gave up the holdback to move a unit.
The only dealers within a 250 mile radius of me who won't negotiate aren't selling cars.
Remember, the first few months of the VW New Beetle and the PT Cruiser. Now, they can't give them away.
Good luck to you.

You might be able to do better than MSRP at San Rafael Nissan, where I got my car, especially if you are looking for the Touring model.

The largest dealer in California is North Bay Nissan in Petaluma and their volume may work in your favor, as well. Even if you cannot improve on the sticker price, it may be possible to negotiate free oil changes or the cost of an accessory.

Keep in mind, though, that, as the weather improves elsewhere in the country, demand should increase. I would think that fewer cars then would be trucked in from New York and Canada.

I was at San Rafael Nissan this morning and saw a six-speed black 350Z Base on the floor, the first time I've seen that model.

Although the sticker was list, Richard probably can improve on that.

Dealers might have been referring to the vert. Hard to believe the reg Z would increase by 12-15%.

Would be lovely, though!

Default mobilebuddha?

Did you order your CS Touring? Or did San Rafael have one on the lot that you bought?

You guys think that they would deal on a Z that they would have to trade for?

I'd prefer a SS Touring MT, but I'd be willing to get another color, CS or DB, if I couldget ~1500 off MSRP...

I suspect odds go down if dealr has to trade. There are lots of Touring Zs sitting at NorCal dealers. And there are at least 40 dealers within 100 miles of you. You might try calling around.

i didn't order one. i bought one of the Zs that was on the lot.

i don't think u can get any major discounts on ordering. -maybe- $250 below msrp. but definitely not $1600 below MSRP like i did. (the sticker price for mine was 34605, i paid 33 flat)

good luck..

but.. regardless though, i would definitely deal w/ northbay dealers. they seem to have a more Zs available, and they are more willing to negotiate.

example:
i had to laugh at the salesguy that was at the infiniti dealership on steven's creek blvd telling me about the $15k markup that was on every g35 coupe that they sell. (or wait 6 months)

he said it's standard policy, i told him that the salesman that i buy the car from had to suck my dick -> one of my "standard policies". i don't think he liked it. oh well, not like i am going back there to buy a car anytime soon..

mobilebudda,
I love it!
See: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....392#post206392

importriders,
My anger is not toward you. You seem to be a likeable guy with a good sense of humor. It is toward slimeball salespeople, who act as if everyone who doesn't enjoy being raped is an idiot. I guess I've been lucky. I have found that the "top" salespeople still make money without leaving me feeling like a used kleenex.
As mobilebudda recently said, far better than I:
"i had to laugh at the salesguy that was at the infiniti dealership on steven's creek blvd telling me about the $15k markup that was on every g35 coupe that they sell. (or wait 6 months)

he said it's standard policy, i told him that the salesman that i buy the car from had to suck my dick -> one of my "standard policies"."
