Default locations to take night shots?

Hey Norcal residents, anyone know of any places with a good background and adequate lighting for taking some night shots of my car? I wanna have a photo session tomorrow night with my new SLR camera...

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Alex

Have you looked at the golden gate bridge and san fran as the background? I'd say that's the best spot for pics.

Hey Alex,

- Treasure Island (SF) = You can get the cityscape of SF & the Bay Bridge.
- Golden Gate Bridge (SF) = There's a few spots around that area. 2 on the SF side of the bridge & the other on the Marin side. (1) There's a small parking lot just before you cross the bridge. Lots of tourist go there to take pictures but at night, it's pretty empty. (2) Just below that area is a spot called Fort Point. It's pretty popular spot to take pics & has been shown in movies. Not sure what time they close that area off though but you can definitely get some good sunset pics with the Golden Gate as your backdrop. The other spot is on the Marin side. There is a pier located on the right hand side once you get to the other side. It's similar to Fort Point except you'll on the opposite side & you can now get a view of the GGB & cityscape.
- Fisherman's Warf (SF) = It's busy during the day but at night (so long as there is no game) it is usually fairly empty. There are several spots you can choose from to take pics including an area almost right under the Bay Bridge.

I can go on and on. There are just so many places you can take pictures at & it doesn't have to be at SF either. These are just some spots where I plan on taking some night shots myself & have seen people take pictures at. But you can essentially just go to a well lit parking lot (business park) or multi-level parking complex & take some great shots. All it takes is a creative eye .

Have fun!

Yea I want some nice scenary as the background...not just industrial buildings or empty parking lots with no view...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll probably end up going to SF and seeing if I could find those places you said James.
