Default Alignment cost...

My car had just installed Tein basic two weeks ago and I am shopping for alignment now...

Just got off the phone with a local shop (got that from the bay area automotive directory sticky) and the shop wants $261 for a 4-wheel alignment. I think it is ridiculous because they even don't have the 06 factory specs on hand (only 05's).....

What should I expect to pay for a good alignment? Based on the search results, I think $100-$175 is the norm...

I paid $94.00 for a 4 wheel aligment at Wheel Works in San Leandro. Dave was the guys name. I was real **** about not getting any scratches or dings on my wheels and they did a great job of not f*** up anything. Tire ware is good after 7,500 miles.

Good luck

Finally went to Motorsport Techniques in Hayward today.... met zz33boi (wilson) there... super nice guy .....

He pointed out to me that my camber kit was installed incorrectly... (got to kick my friend's *** for the f-up install ).....camber is still not within spec after the alignment because of the toe bolt not installed correctly...

Here are the specs now:
Front Left Right
camber -1.5 -1.7
caster 8.1 8.7
toe 0.06 0.05

Rear Left Right
camber -1.6 -1.8
toe 0.07 0.07

Got to do the alignment again after fixing the toe bolts and may add A-arms for the front....

[QUOTE=ahwai519]My car had just installed Tein basic two weeks ago

I had mine done about three weeks ago and I'm getting this metal tapping noise when hitting bumps on the rear passenger side. I can't locate the cause of the noise. I have SF Volk Win 19 x 10.5 wide wheels on the rear. Its only that side. Let me know If you had any of those issues.

I don't have that problem....how low did you set? May be your springs are still adjusting and not settled yet?

I have that awful "growl" from the front tires being feathered. I called the local [Sunnyvale] Nissan dealer and they said I should take the car to Advanced Auto in Sunnyvale. They charged me $90 for front and rear. The owner is a 350Z driver and has special insight into the car.

ahwai519, I set the back to the lowest setting which is 1.1 inches. The front is set to the setting in the directions which is about 1 inch. when I first started to get this tapping noise, I pulled the passenger rear shock out and placed some electrical tape at the top of the thread and put it back in. Noise went away. I went driving the next couple of days through some windy roads and it came back. I just cant figure it out. I'll be taking it apart today. I'll switch the back shocks from left to right and see if noise transfers.

The best alignments I've seen are from that aligment shop in Mountain View. they charge like $400-$800, but they are the absolute best for race cars or cars for the track. Other than that, for a street car, go to Motorsport Techniques, they do all of our street cars and one of our track cars. The best bang for your buck as far as I know. Hope that helped...
