anybody wanna race a RX-7
anybody want to do a friendly race, from around 30 - 100. just a friendly race. last may i thought about getting a 350Z, actually put a deposit down, but changed my mind the last minute. ended up getting a 94 RX-7. very impulsive buy. so i'm just really curious if i made the "right" decision. oh, the RX-7 is pretty stock except for downpipe and catback. the engine and turbos are original, 105k miles, so it's not the healthiest RX-7.

I bought it for 14.5, on the expensive side. if i was a little more patient i could have found a better one, but i wasn't.
so you wanna do a friendly run, from 30mph to 100mph?

I'll race you from 20mph to 125mph then we shut down.
Or dead stop to 110mph then shut down.
LMK if interested. A Sunday around 4pm out on 5 past the airport?
I'm a good sport, slight mods to make up for your turbo.

I don't get down there that often
Any chance you may make it to Sear Point or Sacramento Raceway this this season?
Ever Dyno your car?
Up front as a good sport I will tell me I am squeezing a small shot, and have intake and exhaust and weight reductions.
Shoes are Nitto's on 17 lb rims .
Share some of your secrets now, it's all in good fun!

yea, i dyno'd it last year. 242 at 10.7 psi...but that might be off, because my boost controller is not that accurate, so it was probably more like 11.5psi. since then i put in a intake and IC. my ecu was tuned a little rich then, so hopefully it's better now with the intake. on a healthy motor i should be making about 280 rwhp at around 11psi. but i'm pretty sure i have low compression, so maybe 265 for me.

Sounds like a fair race then
I had a rotory RX7 in the late 80's bought it used. It was fun to drive. I don't recall it having a turbo though, would have been around 1986 that I bought it and it was at least 4 years old.
I traded it in for a Dodge Conquest with a Mistubisi engine and it did have a Turbo, it was 1989 IIRC. I was young. It was fast.
I have pics with sound system and all of all my cars (about 25 in the last 15 years.) All modified fdifferently with sound systems.
Anyway, enjoy till our paths cross. I may go to HIN on 4-5-03 if I get time. It's in San Mateo. I will be at Sac Raceway 4-2-03 Wednesday if you want to line up.

BTW..
the 350Z is really growing on me. at first I disliked alot. The more I see them , the more I like them. Not crazy about the front or the headlights, but the rest is cool.
oh yea, the blue color of yours is a very nice choice.

that right there tells me you race allot.
My car is all stock
Hey Bro thanks for the compliment, I love my Blue it was love at first site. Import Tuner and Stuff mag both have the new RX8 in them, check it out.
I'm not going back to the track until I get DR's.
Can't get any traction. Tires alone will add 2 tenths. And I need to up my jets to 75HP.
Shouldn't be longer than a month for both. Grudhe night sounds fun.
Bring a friend.

Downpipe
catback
mid-pipe
rx7fasion cold air box with 2 ram air intakes & K & N cones
highflow fuel pump
1200 CC secondary injectors
Power FC ECU
ACT Street/Strip clutch
Koyo Racing radiator
Blitz stock mount intercooler
trailing arms (for launching).
Um...I know I'm missing 1 or 2 things, but cant think of it now.
Anyway, I broke my diff a while back so I don't launch it hard these days. My best time is 13.0 @ 110. The last time I ran 13.2 @ 109.8 with a 2.4 60'. My general times are 13.3 -13.9. Sometimes I get a 2.7 or 2.8 on my 60 if I really granny launch it!!
I dynoed at 315.8 to the wheels a few months ago. I'm being completely upfront with you, if we race at one of these grudges, your not going to see me run low 12's or whatever...I'lll be in the range 13.3-13.9, cause I guarantee you I will not hook up with my tires and my driving.
Anyway, I know my trap speed tells my car has great potential, thats really what I look at. Breaking a diff is no fun, I did that on my Nitto's so becareful.

Yeah I had a 125 Shot on my FireHawk and a High Stall Torque Converter and DR's that hooked so hard I broke a rear axle so I know what you mean.
I think it sounds pretty even. I can do 13.3 right now on stock tires with the 65HP jets. I guess I will see you around. It's all fun to me, I love the track atmosphere, sometimes I just run a few runs and park and watch and take in all the fun. Everyone at Sac Raceway is really cool good people.
