I can pull some strings and see what I can do. ust make sure where you want to go first, and tell me when to pull the trigger.

Hey Bro,
If you want to travel to the Eastbay, you can hit either of these two places. Both are in Jack London Square, plenty of parking in the lot or you can be brave and valet.

Both have excellent Seafood and if you decide on either, you've got to try the crab dip appetizer.

Scott's Seafood Restaurant
2 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94607
or
Jack London Square -Kincaid's Fish Chops & Steak House
Oakland, CA

You might consider the Farralon or McCormick & Kuleto's. Both are located in San Francisco. My wife loves these two places.

Your right.

I just tried to find Kincaids and the address is in the middle of Oakland somewhere. When I yellow paged it, it shows Jack London. James forget this one and go to Burlingame if you want to check Kincaids.

Scott's though has great seafood and the crab dip is out of this world!

James-
My brother-in-law and I flew our wives to SFO for their birthday a couple of years ago(twins) and I polled all my friends that travel for business and have big expense accounts. Farallon was the hands-down winner. We went with the recommendations and loved it. Expensive but worth it. Definitely put her in a good mood..........

btw, if you want to go somewhere REALLY exclusive, try to get a table at Sawa Sushi... while not the most amazing interior, the most amazing sushi to be had... just bring a lot of $

Hmmm....I see a lot of good suggestions up there...

I agree with Alex...my cuz used to work line at Gary Danko's....great food, service, overall....but your gf doesn't like dairy, so the cheese cart is out, one of the best parts....

Crustacean's is pretty good, and if it's your first time, as suggested above, roast garlic crabs with the garlic noodles on the side, and a nice bottle (I usually get an Aussie Shiraz of some sort).

Another "couples" place on top of the great recommendations above is La Fondue in Saratoga. Mind you, your gf might not be hot on the cheese fondue appetizer (which you don't have to order), but the ingredients are pretty fresh, nice ambience, and they have a decent wine list (and a wine shop conveniently next door if you want to pop your own). Most of all, the chocolate fondue (order "the Decadent One") is worth the admission alone. It's still fun because it's participatory, in that you cook/dip your food, but also a bit less messy than crackin' crabs for an hour at Crustacean's (though still worth it, IMO).

Good Luck (err....Get Lucky)

-1000000 for McCormick & Kuleto's

Not going to jack this thread but let's just say they are "selective" as to who gets the best service and seating. And, its not just me, I've had friends who have gone there and had the same problems.

and the food is overpriced. there are better selections in the Warf area.

gary danko
houstons

My personal choice would be

Michael Mina @ The Westin St. Francis Union Square (need reservations and $$$)

or

If you're in to Wine and live music

Bacar on 4th and Brannan (has one of the largest wine selections in the City)

+1 for Aqua

My suggestion to you would be CHAYA, it's on Embarcadero with an amazing meat & seafood menu, and a beautiful view.

They have a wide veriety of food including seafood. Chinese, then i would recommend McArthy Ranch, the Asian side. They have plenty of Asian cuisine there. Japanese, try Ikinohana on De Anza Blvd and Stevens Creek. Very nice atmosphere and their food is top notch. Italian, Bucca De Beppo hands down...

+100000 on Bucca De Beppo. that place has bomb *** italian food and they do a lil b-day suprise if its ur b-day with cake and some candles

Wow! Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! All of them sound really good too! It's okay, gives me a list to refer to during my next special event . Besides...our anniversary is coming up too!

With all the suggestions & based on what my GF can eat, I think I will be going to try out Millennium Restaurant. Scott...since you recommended them, how are they with reservations? Meaning, how far advance of a reservation do you have to make it? Thanks!

Alex...you got the hookups to this place?

Edit: Hmm? I just read some not so good reviews. Anyone here have personal experience at this place?

Here are the reviews:
http://sanfrancisco.citysearch.com/review/886014
Crustacean's is great... Love the Crab....
Thanh Long at 46th and Judah in the Sunset is also owned by the same owners.
Menu is almost the same...

Slanted Door is really too. Since at the Ferry Building, you can walk around there... Park at the embarcadero or valet at hyatt and go to the equinox after for a nice view and a drink....
