I'm going to be in Santa Clara for a training course at IBM on sunday-wednesday. Is there anything to do in the evenings there? I'm assuming there will be something going on due to the holiday.

Wednesday night its off to vegas for SEMA. Maybe I'll see some of you there!

santa clara sucks. it's mostly an industrial area. going to man jose (san jose) sucks too. yes, i said man jose. every club you go down here has way too many guys. also the fat chicks think they're hot stuff. the hot chicks are just that & tough to approach.

milpitas is too risky for mod'd cars and the 880 area smells. lots of asian plazas though. sunnyvale is borderline with mod'd cars. fremont isn't that much better than santa clara, just with lots of empty tech buildings.

best bet for having fun is SF.

I'd like to drop by Z Car garage and take a look at your car and others. Do you know what time the guys over there are in the shop until? I'm staying at the Marriot hotel on Mission Blvd and I'm right down the road from there. Maybe I can go straight from IBM over to the shop after I get out of there.

Oh, and I don't have a rental car so I'll have to grab a cab.

what do you do for ibm if you don't mind me asking? I work for ISS Internet Security Systems who just got bought out by IBM. So i guess i work for ibm too? I haven't lived in santa clara area for awhile but back when i did Thursday nights theres a free concert in downtown sj that's usually pretty good. there's also some good hookah lounges. It all depends on what you're wanting to do.

 

I don't work for IBM, I'm just attending a training course that they offer for IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler. I've been an admin on our firms system for almost 1.5 yrs and still have had no "formal" training. Not sure how much I'll actually learn, but it should be a good travel opportunity.

 

how about anyone who wants to meet up at ZCar do & we can all get dinner afterwards.

i went to Z car garage ones and after hearing from some people....is true..they quote expensive for a lot of stuff...do you guys know if their any other shops around in san jose or even in santa clara or sunnyvale
