but i'm going to trade it in and get a 2007 z the 3.8 ford engine is easy to work on and parts are cheap but it doesn't have the handles a z does and 306hp

 

Wow I just read through the whole thread and those V8 guys really put that troll in his place. I must say I was surprised at how much respect they have for our car.

 

but gt and cobra owners mostly talk alot of smack about anything other than american cars. they even talked to me cuz i only had a six banger

 

few things, I just stepped out of a highly modded GT into my 06 Z. there are a few rules in Stang Land. first, if you have a set of "twig and berries", dont be a f#g and buy a v6. you will forever be flamed anytime you mention these following words, "fast, power, powerful, quick, 15 sec 1/4, torque, HP, or I won". second, dont ever compare your v6 stang to anything other then a shopping cart. I love Mustangs and Cobra's, and yes with a few hundred bucks a stang will smoke most Z's that arent highly modded, but the Z is a much more refined "sports" car. the mustang is a mid-60's developed str8 line toy. cobras are a little better since they have an IRS (99-04) when i comes to handling. I sold my stang and bought a Z because of its looks, power and build, but i also am saving the remaining $$$ left over to by the 2009/2010 Cobra.

I agree, both domestic and import have respectable rides, both have in depth forums, website, clubs etc. Yet there still seems to be morons on both sides of the fence making everyone look bad. I was hoping that coming over to the import side and picking in my opinion an "adult" sports coupe I would no longer have to deal with children.

 

You are 100% correct about 3 years ago when the Z was out of reach for most "children"

 

We have a lot of clowns like that on this site too who think the Z is God. Theres a tool in every bunch no matter what the make of the car.

My DD (Ford Escort ZX2) has been running on the same OEM factory battery, headlights, clutch, transmission, exhaust, and suspension since I bought it brand new back in 2000. I've put 85K+ and it still runs great.
