Agreed, you probably want to stay away from fairfield/vacaville unless you are going to work up north from there (like sac).

Where in Benecia are you looking at? Be sure to account for $4.00 toll everday for work if it comes down to it o_o

I am looking at Continental Apartments, 522 1/2 West K Street. Not a bad place to start off. I will try to avoid going over the bridge and staying on the north side for housing, work and school, thanks for the heads up.

Any opinions or feedback on Martinez, CA?

Question. Is there a toll to get from Martinez to Benicia on the 680 bridge?

Yes sir!

From Benicia to Martinez there is no toll (Southbound), however there is toll in the other direction from Martinez to Benicia (Northbound).

I don't know much about Martinez but you will have to deal with the big refinery over there. Might be something to think about.

Depending where in Martinez? Seems like the nice areas are around Highway 4 - not too familiar with it though... If you and your fiancee are commuting together to Vallejo on the Z, you can use the carpool lanes between 5-10AM and 3-7PM and avoid paying tolls... You're going against the commute so traffic shouldn't be too bad... Good thing about Martinez is that it is closer to Concord and Walnut Creek... More things to go to than in Vallejo... Make sure you get FastTrak - makes going across BayArea Bridges faster...

GoodLuck..
