Oh yeah, not to mention adjusting through a-arms in the rear seems to be the REAL way to adjust camber too. It won't affect toe which is a plus

Sticking out is a-ok by me, its comes with the territory to fit negative offset wheels on the z. But, in order to fully fit the wheel under the stock fender through the current camber arms available, the wheel would stick out so far that it wouldnt even be funny.

I can already imagine EVERYONE already asking me if my car is broken because it will have about negative 5 to 7 degrees of camber in the rear. Haha good times

this'll be one of those flame events where i'll be glad to not wear the flamesuit; i'd love to take the heat for a pimp wheel fitment setup

urban, you said that the springs aren't mounted to the shock in our rear, but i remember seeing somewhere that jinsei had stance coilovers, which ARE mounted together.

Jinsei- does this mean you won't be using rear camber arms?

also, is it possible to adjust the camber in front without a camber kit? how do they do it at alignment shops?

Stance coilovers...since they are a typical coilover design, you may still be able to use new a-arms in the rear. However, how much clearance there is, I'm not sure. Let me post a picture I took of the stock system clearance in the back mounted with my wheel:



So as you can see, there is obvious room to play with and IMO the best option is to get some new rear upper a-arms to get rid of some of that gap instead of pushing the bottom of the wheel out.

How much room there is truely depends on the wheel setup. Offsets and widths. Since I am running negative offsets, I have a ton of room to play with. The higher the offset, the further in towards the shock your wheel will go (increased backsapce) and vica versa.

Well we are treading on thin water with our car builds. I think it's one of those things that has to be appreciated in person. It's hard to show the true look and feel of the car with pictures unless you are some savage pro photog

You and I are going to put San Francisco on the books...and not in a gay way

gonna roll my fenders first and see how much i need to camber it. trying to find someone that rents out the fender rolling tool so i dont have to spend so much money rolling fenders.

probably going to run 255/35's in the rear and 235/35 in the front, but gonna look around for what i can.

is it possible to adjust camber without camber arms? if so, how many degrees?

There is someone on eBay that does rentals if you are interested. Tirerack does or did rentals, I don't know about their current situation.

Or you can always cut the fenders too...it will give you more room than just rolling and will give you a cleaner look.

i would cut fenders but i just hear how rolling them is so much better. one thing i dont want to have to worry about is the metal rusting or my tires getting cut by my fenders if its not smoothed out properly.

oh well, i should be getting tires sometime this week and i'll be looking for a fender rolling rental place.

Great to see you guys finally fitting some aggressive wheels on Zs!!

I just went through this last summer with my SC400. 19x9.5 +2 and 11mm spacer, 225/35/19 and 19x11.5 +1 275/30/19
-3.5 deg camber with camber bushings in the upper control arms. Even better would be cut shorten and reweld.
Rotor hats shaved 1mm front and 2mm rear. Front fenders vertex 25mm plus widened 5mm. rear pulled fender 25mm.

Good luck guys and don't listen to the haters. I have had no problems at all with running stretched tires just keep an eye on your tire pressure. I'd let you guys use my fender roller if I was local.

I don't know about cutting and rewelding our upper control arms, they are made out of cast aluminum

I just bought a new set of Cuscos for the front and rears, I might have to get some custom made.
