I wish someone would sell the same paint they use on stealth planes.

Actually, I think that's part of the stealth technology. Along with the faceting (aka radar cross-section reduction or rcs) and the alloys (dielectric composites).

Oh man! Now look what you done! You made go Wikipedia on you:

"[edit] Radar absorbing paint
Radar absorbing paint or radar absorbent material (RAM), is used especially on the edges of metal surfaces. The RAM coating, known also as iron ball paint, contains tiny spheres coated with carbonyl iron ferrite. Radar waves induce alternating magnetic field in this material, which leads to conversion of their energy into heat. Early versions of F-117A planes were covered with neoprene-like tiles with ferrite grains embedded in the polymer matrix, current models have RAM paint applied directly. The paint must be applied by robots because of issues relating to solvent toxicity and tight tolerances on layer thickness.

In a similar vein, coating the cockpit canopy with a thin film transparent conductor (vapor-deposited gold or indium tin oxide) helps to reduce the aircraft's radar profile because radar waves would normally enter the cockpit, bounce off something random (the inside of the cockpit has a complex shape), and possibly return to the radar — but the conductive coating creates a controlled shape that deflects the incoming radar waves away from the radar. The coating is thin enough that it has no adverse effect on the pilot's vision."

If you are seriously scared of being caught with Laser then consider the laser jammer from lidatek. http://www.lidatek.com
It's good because all the compenents are hidden throughout the engine and inside the dash so it is virtually undetectable. All you see is this little led that is placed anywhere in your interior. Even the speaker is hidden inside the dash. Basically when you get hit with a laser, the sensor mounted on the front grill detects it and then jams it for 5 seconds. For those 5 seconds an alarm will go off and the led will turn red allowing you enough time to slow down. After those 5 seconds the system shuts off. There is also an on/off switch incase you want to manually shut the system off.

I've heard good things about the lidatek products... I'm more partial to the Blinder Xtreme though. Both are great, but I've seen the Blinder Xtreme work, first-hand. Also, price is slightly cheaper...

More reason to keep the front license plate off.

Are you telling me that our current radar/laser detectors are no good. I have the most recent wireless escort model. I just got it less than a year ago.

They will work to detect laser or radar, but I think once you have detected laser, you would have been hit with it already. I think it's cause radar waves go all over the place and so you can detect if it's being used on another car but laser only hits one car directly so if u detect it you got hit by it already. Don't quote me on this though lol

Then they'll pull you over for no front license plate.

Now if we have a laser jammer, will that work on the LIDAR?

I was saved from LIDAR by my V1 numerous occasions. I usually get false warnings from SUV's and what not, but after my first ticket with a LIDAR the cop who got me told me how they shoot with it. Basically they have to shoot you twice (dunno if they do this anywhere else) but if i get two laser warnings in a row on my V1 that means some serious business.

The last time it saved me was on Monday. I was in a school zone and was at the front of the pack. Regular speed limit is 40mph, school zone speed was 25mph. Light for school zone was flashing as well. I was going 30mph for a while and after I passed the school, it opened up to an empty field. I didnt know if the zone was over or not so I started to accelerate. I stepped on the gas, maybe a split second later JUST BEFORE going over 35 I got zapped two consecutive times on laser band. I knew there was a cop somewhere but didn't see him. In an instant I downshifted to 2nd and was back down to 28mph. Then I saw him about 75 yards away. He was on his motorcycle and was positioned just behind the "END SCHOOL ZONE" sign. Damn it was the best feeling to just drive past him, the thing really pays for itself!!

oh yeah, I'd also like to add that had I been going over the speed limit when he zapped me I would've been screwed. I considered myself extremely lucky.

You're on the money... just gonna add one thing though. laser starts to spread over distance as well. Not as rapidly or as severely as a radar signal, but it does, that's why police MUST be within a certain range of your vehicle to use it effectively.

blinder xtreme m-20. you can read about it at radarbusters.com. This site is run by a retired cop. he's tested radar detectors, jammers, etc, and posts his findings on the site. Good reading. I'm working on getting the blinder myself.

yeah, I read somewhere that when the laser first shoots out, the diameter of the beam is similar to the size of a pencil.

[QUOTE=RavnNSX]Then they'll pull you over for no front license plate.

I have a combined $150k miles on our 4 vehicles, none of which have front license plates. I have been pulled over two times in the 6-year period. *shrug*
