Default Bay Area Wedding location

Hey guys, so it's time to tie the knot with the wifey. We are looking for a place to hold our ceremony and reception anywhere from Fremont to Sac. Anyone have any recommendations for some nice places that are not going to force me to sell the Z .

We aren't too picky on a place, so throw out any ideas y'all might have. Thanks in advance.

cole mansion, retz carlton in SF, sheraton hotel in Palo Auto, and Hayes mansion in SJ are all nice places to be considered. price range: 10k-40k...you might need to consider to sell your Z..lol

Congrats on making the plunge. I just got married in October myself in the Sacramento area. We bought the Z two months before that, so I'm confident you can pull it off, lol.

IMO, the wedding industry is the biggest rip-off on the planet, next to greeting cards (ha ha). If I had any sense I’d switch careers right now, they’ve got to have 100-200% m/u on everything.

My advise, shop around! If you can find local mom & pop businesses or a new vendor trying to make a name for themselves you can save a TON of money. The "wedding-in-a-box" places are easy, but you pay for that convenience.

Good luck and congrats!

Right now we haven't decided if we are going to go with indoor or outdoor. We are open to either.

If either one of you is affiliated with Stanford, then the Memorial church is the best place. If not, consider Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. We had an outdoor wedding there (cheap), follow by a reception dinner there (not cheap). If you are on a budget, try outdoors on the Alumni Fields on the UC Berkely campus. They have a cabin to use for back up in case of rain.

no question- i got married last summer and went with jefferson street mansion in benicia. amazing place. pretty much all inclusive too- price comes with a planner, they handle food, menus, decorations, just about everything you can imagine. classy enough to satisfy my snobby relatives, but kick back enough to satisfy my normal drunk friends. jeffersonstreetmansion.c o m. you wont regret it.

It's hard to say without knowing your budget. There is the Scottish Rite Center in San Jose for a reception.

We're trying to keep everything under 15k, but we don't want to have some cheezy POS wedding either. Like I said, I have about 15-20 to throw down without having to sell the Z.
