favorite roads to drive on around the bay area?
hey i was just wondering what other peoples favorite roads to drive on around the bay area were. a couple of mine are in the east bay. crow canyon road. which you can get to from 580. and its skips 680. and my other fav is highland rd/ collier canyon which takes you from blackhawk to livermore. one of my other fav's is lake herman rd in Benicia. its got some history too with the Zodiac killer. there all windy country roads. with nice scenery. and there are never any cops for the most part. the way i see it is these roads are kinda like secret surf spots. but what the hell might as well share with your Z friends. what are some of your favorite places to go?

Crow Canyon is no way comparable to a secret surf spot. Seriously X that one out of the list. I have gotten a ticket there, and NEVER speed through that canyon EVER. I see cops all over that canyon... in the middle for the passing lanes they always have a cop equipped with radar, and motorcycle cops hiding throughout the canyon. What kind of fun is going through a canyon obeying the speed limit?

Found this webpage.....

If you ever want to find the best backroads ask someone who travels them on a bike, motorcycles always know the best roads.
Personally, still love Lake Berryessa.

Redwood Canyon. But not a good place for a cocky kid who thinks he can elude the sheriff. Canyon roads don't tend to have turn offs and the longer they are, the more assured that there will be a cop waiting at the other end. Decades ago.

Any road from napa valley to berryessa. The two best are monticello in Napa all the way up and deer park at rutherford once you get past the hospital. However nothing beats silverado trial in the middle of the night. Thats my stomping ground and where i learned to drive the right way in my old 280zx.
