Default Any volunteers to compare my Z with in the Bay Area?

Hello everyone! I purchased my Z on March 29th. I wanted to know if anyone would be willing to make some comparisons w/ my Z to determine if I have some problems. I work in San Jose during the week but I have every other Monday off. I would prefer comparing w/ someone near San Jose or Campbell area, but would also be willing to drive out to Fremont, Hayward, or even Daly City area. Here's what I've observed so far:
1.) Thud noise when disengaging clutch from 1st gear (bad release bearing?)
2.) Rattles on front doors and somewhere in the hatch
3.) Erratic idle
4.) Whining noise when accelerating (is this normal?)
5.) Driver's window doesn't roll down properly when opening the door (already adjusted at Capitol Nissan but the problem is back again)
6.) Grinding noise at cold start-up (just noticed this on sunday nite when it was really cold, sounds like it came from tranny)

Any help from volunteers would be greatly appreciated. It will help me decide whether I should keep the car or trade-in for a G35c.

MGV156- I work right down the street from StrictlyZ. Let me know if you want to meet up sometime.

1.) I get this occationallly when the car is cold, but only when the wheel is turned- weird
2.) Nope
3.) Once in a blue moon- has happened like 3 times but goes away almost right away
4.) Nope- but this has been discussed by other members.
5.) Nope
6.) Nope

Only other wierd prob:
shifting from 1st to 2nd feels weird when the car is cold and I can hear the linkage (pretty loud) when the window is rolled down- seems to go away when warmed up (only between 1st and 2nd)

PS I got my car on 3/25.

failsaf3,

i was cruising around dell ave. yesterday between 6-6:30. is that a legit location of strictly z? i was a bit skeptical when i rolled thru that driveway and around the buildings, unless they moved to a new location. i need to hear your car at a cold startup. you're right about the 1-2 shift. it's only noticeable when it's cold. but the rattles are just annoying the crap out of me. i don't even have my license plates yet and these little problems are popping out. i'd like to meet up w/ u and others at strictly z if possible sometime next week (friday may be?)

MGV156- Sure thing. We can possibly meet at Strictly Z. I work at the corner of Knowles and Winchester so thei shop is about 1/2 away. I believe they may be in the process of moving locations. However if you want to hear my car on a cold start up you can always come by my work. Next Friday should is fine. PM me and I'll shoot you my cell #.

MGV156- I never heard from you yesterday. If you still want to meet up we'll have to do it Thursday or Friday. I have to work a trade show up in SF today and I'm going to be at the shop tomorrow during lunch. Let me know.

whatever,
what time is the meet? granted that my gf and i wake up early so she can study for her cpa exam, i'll definitely stop by d&b to meet everyone. unfortunately, i won't be able to stay long because i have to drive up to union city to help my sister and bro-in-law clear their garage and then change my oil. with all this in mind, i hope it doesn't rain on saturday.

Did you ever get around to comparing? I'm having similiar problems with my Z. I get a thud noise when engaging the clutch for the first time to first gear. Also have strange noises from 1st to 2nd or if I downshift into 2nd. I get that erratic idle thing too. As for the rest, I don't have those problems. Hmm....wondering if this is just my bad driving or if there really is a problem with my Z as well.

I also have the erratic idle. I've had my car since late April. But I'm available for a comparison if you still need it, here in the southern peninsula/upper south bay =)

mine has following problems;

1. AC not cold - re-filled neon gas and working.
2. Head Unit LCD display problem.
When temp gets warm, some LCD characters does not display
- replaced new HU
3. Rear hatch cover loose - dealer replaced whole hatch cover
4. Rear rattle noise - still can not find the source
5. Steering to right - done alignment, car doesn't pull much as before, but the steering is off-centered
6. grinding noise at neutral - compared with other car, same noise.

I live in SJ area. Also want to compare with other Z owners.

im up at moffett field, super black, 6 speed, touring, i sometimes hear a rattle coming from the right side door, but i think its the seat belt latch bumping against the plastic, it goes away whenever i move the seat forward

Update:

The driver's side window auto down is within spec. I found out that the window is being held up by the weather proofing on the door. I also got my window grease tsb done back in april and I am now seeing streaks on both windows. I don't know if it's grease as I haven't washed my car lately. The rattles are still there because Capitol Nissan can't duplicate the noises whenever I take it to them. I'm thinking of going back and take a tech out for a drive on some rough roads. My service advisor is Simon Chiang. If any of you ever take it there for the same issues as I have, please see him. May be they'll start a list of Zs w/ the same problems.
