HAPPY NEW YEAR...

Official oil consumption testing started today at Dealer.
The time has arrived for me to move forward with this 2 year issue I've had with or without a TSB from Infiniti, like the one for the 350Z's back in Nov 07.

Most likely see you all tonight.

Haha...they seal and mark all that stuff so yuz cant...
Wouldnt do that anyway if they hadnt. I'll play their game. Know I qualify under Nissans TSB. That's in my favor depending which route I have to take in resolving this.

Good to hear your tires finally arrived.

I'm running late peeps. My dinner not ready yet
I'll be there tho.

Guys I need your help as I have not done this before, I need to remove some springs off my front strut and I am not sure I know if I am doing this correct. I need to get these off tonight so any help appreciated.

So far I rented the spring compressor from Kragen and have them on one of the springs and have compressed it till the top of the spring is off the perch so then I tried to remove the center bolt and it is real tight plus every time I rotate it the whole top rotates with it....so I am not sure if I am doing this right.

Some pics to show where I am. First is the springs compressed.

Second is the nut I think I have to remove?

Any input please.

Default PAUL.. Ritz is your man...

However, we couldn't get my springs off ourselves when we did my springs so I ended up taking it to PEP boys... Had them remove and install it to the new struts...

Good Luck...

Thanks I wonder how much they would charge just to take the springs off the strut.

Paul,

Just take it to Pepboys or any shop... They can do it for $40.00 (anymore than that is just too much)...

Ideally you want to take the top bolt off (or at least loosen) before you take the assembly off the car... An impact wrench will make quick work of this... If you are using hand tools alone, take the front assemblies to a shop... They will take about 20 minutes for them to switch springs - thats for both fronts... Hope that helps...

In that case, an impact wrench will do it. Good luck with the uninstall.
