Sharks = no heart
Oh man
no I don't
I was very surprised by your team, San Jose came out hard early. I thought that we were done for *again* early in the playoffs after a great regular season.

Yah, its too bad the Sharks always hit a wall in the playoffs.
Maybe the Pred's series took a lot out of them.
Either way it would have been a difficult journey to the finals, especially with the Ducks waiting.

I really think this is a fundamentally strong team with a lot of cheap talent in their young kids that is still in good shape to make a run next year even with no real shake-ups.
I havent had much luck cheering for my teams lately lol

It was a huge surprise to me that Thornton showed up for the playoffs this year but Marleau wasn't a factor. I like Vlasic, Carle, Rivet and McLaren on the blue line, but none of them are Norris candidates at this point.

Marleau - should not be captain. Not to say I don't like him, but he's not captain material. This should go to Grier or Rivet. <sarcasm> Supposedly he suffered a groin in jury. That's why he had no ***** in this series. </sarcasm>
Defense - I think Hannan's gone. McLaren isn't as good as he once was. Ehrhoff, Carle, Vlasic, good young players, but not enough experience and not tough or big enough to be a top pair D.
Offense - Lots of depth, lots of young players. But they need some role players. Guys like Clowe, Rissmiller, Goc.. they're decent and can only get better, but I think we need to get rid of some of them for more "playoff tested" players.
Guerin - thank god he'll be gone. Waste of a first round pick.
Goalie - I really don't know who to keep, but I agree that one needs to go.

Also, I really think Ron Wilson has to go, I don't feel like he puts a line together long enough for it to really gel and succeed. He leaves people together as long as they're producing, but if one of the top two lines hits a dry spell, he'll tear apart a really successful line to jump start it. Early in the season the Bernier-Marleau-Michalek line was on a tear, but Thornton Cheechoo and Bell weren't scoring so the Marleau line got scrapped and nobody really benefitted.
Guerin doesn't really seem like a good fit in SJ, I agree.
On the goalie front, it depends -- a team that needs a goalie and is closer to the cap would probably go for Toskala, a rebuilding team might go for Nabokov. I think Toskala is easier to shop with his lower cap hit.

I think the better team won.
