Cali du Nord
Early Sunday, I took a drive up along Highway One to Pt. Reyes with a stop at the Audubon Ranch, where egrets and herons are beginning to nest (nice compliments about the car from those who were there), and then a pint or two of McEwens at the Pelican Inn at Muir Beach to conclude the day. And, just as I had finished washing the car, it began to rain, making the morning's sun even more enjoyable.
I was struck by the fact that, in every case, cars courteously moved over to allow me to pass on the curving narrow roads. I find, too, that second and third are the most enjoyable gears for me. The exhaust note at 4000 rpm is exhilarating and there is a real sense of speed, even though I never went over 60.
Next month, there is the Wine Country Classic at Sears Point, where vintage cars will be racing.
I know that we each enjoy the Z in our own way. Mine is covered and driven only on weekends. The result is that the car still seems fresh and new to me. Perhaps, too, because I am older (although not as old as Mr. Rat), people seem to be more engaging and pleased to talk about the car.
Life is good in a Z.

I agree whole heartedly. We appear to have our Z's as secondary
cars. Mine too doesn't see the light of day except when sunny or for that special drive. Sometimes I wonder why because it's such a joy to drive. I too enjoy the exhaust sound and the same gears especially when traversing Hwy 1 even farther north (Bodega Bay to Albion).
There's a few of us "older" guys that should get together for a drive sometime. There's Randy in San Rafael, Lenny in Healdsburg, me in Windsor and yourself. There doesn't seem to be a lot of Marin/Sonoma owners on the board.

You obviously bought from a more customer oriented dealer. All I got was a free oil change. Could be that I was a pain in the a$$ with them and had to constantly tell them what was happening and how to do things during the whole pre-order program. That's ok I don't drink anyway. Hope you enjoyed the wine.
