OT - iPhone
Does anyone have any friends that works at an AT&T cellular phone store? If so, any hook ups? OR Any detailed information on when we should start lining up for the iPhone?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Personally, my current phone has had 4/5 of the screen blanked out for like 4 months
You're not going to find any hook ups on this phone for awhile. If anybody is doing it then they are risking their jobs. Company wide this phone is on strick lock down to full revenue customers only. Even employees can not get a discount. As for getting the phone unlocked, sure that may be the case but AT&T has exclusive rights to the phone for the next few years and unless you want to use a shell of a phone on another carrier with half the services disabled then go for it.
I have a friend that is a store manager.....and he can't even do ****. Talked to him about 1 hour ago and told me they are only allowing 2 per person.
I got one of guys waiting in line for me to get two.....**** YEAH!!!!

I just found this from gizmodo:
What the iPhone Doesn't Have
-Songs as Ringtones
-Games
-Any flash support
-Instant Messaging
-Picutre message (MMS)
-Video recording
-Direct iTunes Music Store Access (Over Wi-Fi or EDGE)
-Voice recognition or voice dialing
-Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Streaming
-One-size-fits-all headset jack (May have to buy an adapter for certain headphones)
I think I'm going to rethink my decision about getting one.

It has Ichat and considering I chat will be able to take in AIM/Adium Screen names you will be able to have a chat/text conversation
Picture messaging is possible
Video Recording is possible with the camera but not for LONG periods of time.
Itunes has to be taken of a PC or Mac that has Itunes software on it but I bet soon enough that will be able to be streamed to the phone
Voice recognition or voice dialing is pretty much programming so I think that will be capable in the future
only a matter of time before **** got done right...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but a friend of mine works for AT&T and he's been testing the phone (yes I've seen one in action, not that impressed), he mentioned that AT&T wasn't going to offer any insurance on this phone...
Kinda risky considering the fairly hefty price tag. Personally...I have two ipods already and don't need another. Sure it looks cool but I found that the touch screen was a little vauge when typing. If this phone follows the ipod model...it would be best to wait for the 2nd or even 3rd gen.
