So bros... Are there any tricks for getting the OEM stick shift **** off? Mine was beat to hell from the previous owner and got an after market one, but when I try to twist it off I get nervous about tweaking something down below. Is it reverse thread or is it righty tighty lefty loosy? It really does not want to come off. Halp?

Thanks broski. I'll try again once the garage chills down.

There are a number of DIY's for this if you search around.

Just make sure to clamp below the OEM **** under the shift boot while trying to twist it off.

I seriously didn't expect to see that response in a local bros thread. Had I posted out in the open where all of the regular douchcanoes post, I'd totally expect it, but not back here. I was on my cell phone in my car, trippin out. Search wasn't reasonably available.

bro. take that boot off, get a good pair of vise-grips latched on the shaft nice and low then twist that thing off! once you pop it loose, it'll twist off like a Zima cap!

Yea that is what my research this morning lead me to see. I have to pop the center console up, and get under the boot with some vice grips and then tear that fucker off. Because mine is on there like a a motha.

I'm leary about popping the center console up though. That **** always makes me nervous thinking I'm going to bust a clip or something. Heck, took forever to replace the battery because of that same reason./

So my buddy runs into this dude the other day and they start talking about dudes Z. It turns out he "knows" me and my car was his "inspiration for his mods". Okay, thats cool... I've heard that before and its always flattering, they say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Usually I see the car and sometimes see the influence other times I don't, but I have never seen one that made me cringe...then I received this picture from my buddy...
