Carbs gunked up? pull out the jets and emulsion tubes and clean em out with some carb cleaner...


Should have put some stabil in the tank before you put it away for storage maybe next time?

umm... does your 350Z have carbs? mine sure doesnt haha and neither does the 280Z... Im actually really concerned even though im hoping its just something small...

That used to happen to mine when id wash the engine... I think my intake was getting water up into the MAF...

 

Thought you guys would be happy to know... today my car went through hours of cleaning, inside and out. Wash, clay bar &cookies hand wax... looks better than it has in years... hopefully I can get someone interested in buying it now! Haha...

Yeah it would idle just fine. But no acceleration when id step on it. But it would go away on its own after a lil bit...

Oh my bad! thought you were talkig about your other Z, but i didnt know it was EFI...what year is it??

First thing that i would check is your MAF's, spray it down with some MAF cleaner, might have just sucked up some dust or something. When was the last time you changed your air filters? they pretty nasty?

Also, are you low on gas? being on an incline with less that a 1/4 tank might cause some funky shizzz

My 280z is a 75 (luckily haha)..

Ill hae tp pick up some maf cleaner and i am at less than 1/4 on an incline... so Ill get on flat ground and see if that changes anything...

 

Yea the incline could cause issues. Z33's have been known to have issues with gas starvation on the track..dont see why this wouldnt be any different...

Im willing to be its the MAF though...sounds just like when i would suck up a little water in my maxima from my rear mount setup... i would get some minor hesitation for a second or so

 

What year is your Z cause I think they fixed the fuel starvation in 07 or 06

 

well i was just using that as an example...and his is an 03-05 IIRC.

Any car can have this issue if really low on gas and on a really steep driveway...

 

i wont be at the 'sac' meets anymore (sacremento thread). also i moved to a different state (with less gangstar wannabes, and more chevys and shotguns.) and stored the z. just thought i would explain my absence and say it was nice meetin yall at the meets.

 

My Z is an 06 BTW...
