Hm...I really want to run Thill backwards....

I had signed up to do it on my bike but joined the turn 1 club the day before, and never got to run it backwards...

Those that are going, do you go the night before and spend a night, or go really early the day of?

I am thinking about going, but don't like the idea of waking up at 4:30am, leaving home at 5am and spend a day on the track (never tracked before).

When I used to do Thill on my motorcycle, I'd do 2 days back to back and stay at a hotel the night before....most people do that, but some people do the drive at 430am...its up to you really. I think i'm gonna do the 430am drive this time.

Dave, what other trackdays are you doing in October? I'm #1 on the waiting list for the novice group for the Oct 5th one.

You can easily kamikaze for an am run, but I'd suggest leaving a little bit earlier than 5am. Thill is an approx 2 1/2 hr drive, so I'd head out by 4:30 so you are prepped, checked-in, tech'd, and ready to roll for the 8am driver's meeting.

Doing the Trackmasters and NASA weekend listed below in addition to the season closer at Infineon on the 27th. I belive that the Infineon weekend isn't open for HPDE'ers though.

Hm...I might do the Trackmasters day on Oct 11th...the problem is that I've never done a trackday in a car and I don't want to ruin other people's tracktime. Since it's an intermediate/open trackday, would it be wise for me to do my first car trackday with that group?

What do you mean "intermediate/open trackday"? I just looked at their site, and the only thing different appears to be the direction...

Might want to email Doug and ask him what he thinks.
Considering the track is being run in reverse, I think everyone will be slow for the first few sessions.

Not necessary until you are at least an intermediate driver and/or the conditions are severe, especially with synthetic oil...
