OK, Now I see it. Just had to step back a bit and defocus. Whew, I thought I was going to

I guess I shouldn't have had that second glass of wine tonight.

Post yeah, I think I might stay away from now on...

(I went there because they were by far the most convenient for me in terms of distance, my commute and my schedule.)

I dunno, my experience w/them has been generally ok before the whole personnel change, but today I'm not so sure. I brought my Z into Capitol to have the free 100 point inspection done. They told me my tread depths (well, gee, I got new rear tires a few days ago) and said I needed 30K maintenance for $599 and power steering flush for $140. Everything else checked out ok. I told them I'd think about it.

Well, I get home and see I had the 30K maint. done at Falore a little over a year ago and it doesn't look like I ever had a power steering fluid flush. I looked thru my 2004 Service and Maintenance Guide (and searched thru the PDFs of the 05 and 06 versions; can't find the 04 ones online) and looked at the 04 Factory Service Manual. I couldn't find any interval for changing power steering fluid.

The fluid looks a little dark but I wish I'd paid attention to it before arriving at the dealer... Seems like both prices are a rip and I'm not convinced the latter is necessary. I think I'll DIY on the latter.

For them it's not about what you need but how much they think they can squeeze out of you.

I think we should get a bunch of Zs to circle the place on a busy weekend with protest signs about how bad they are, maybe we can scare off a few customers and get them to see the light. On the other hand, even if they changed for a while, I am sure they would be back to their greedy ways as soon as they thought we forgot about them.

This threat worked for me at Stevens Creek Nissan a few years ago... Long story short: They screwed me over on a new Maxima, and forced me to take it since I had signed the paperwork. After 10 days, I fought back, and they took the car back to sell on the lot.
