I was pulling into the garage, one Z next to the other, and the tire and tool shelves started to move. My neighbor was opening his garage door, and I was like, "WTF is up with his door?". Then it all moved for maybe 10s, and it was over. First time for me in 7 years here.

Ehh, the quake wasn't THAT scary. I guess that's because I was here for the '89 Loma Prieta earthquake (magnitude 6.9).

+1. I was working in the heart of S.F. Marina and witness the 89 big quake first hand. It was hard to believe. The big one is due any time, be prepared ASAP!! Don't fool around.

hell no don't say that i'm seriously still startled believe it or not. My room was shifting all over the place like 3 inches that way and 3 inches the other way and I was being thrown around, I WAS BEING THROWN AROUND, for all you norcal guys who know i'm not small, even i was being thrown around -__-. But please, if that was a 5.6 tonight, I dont think I can handle anything over a 6.4 like they are anticipating within the week, I'm not just thinking about myself, but also thinking about my family, therefore am dreading that you guys are saying that a 7 or 8 is long over due. If the great SF earthquake wasn't even an 8, and it created such carnage, what can it do to us? I mean I know after that, buildings were constructed much better, but ...it's like man's work vs. nature ... we never win.

Yeah this quake wasn't too bad compared to the one is '89. I remember being outside & seeing the streetlights swaying back & forth during that one.
