Bumpity!

So my search criteria has now also included Fremont, Milpitas, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, & North San Jose. Also bumped my rent to $1500 MAX. Will consider roomates as well to help cut cost.

I swear, everything is so damn expensive around here & the size of the place is freakin tiny! As mentioned, looking for an in unit washer/dryer and enclosed garage OR gated community w/ covered port. I'm going to go hunting this weekend at Fremont around the BART station since there seems to be several nice places there. Looks fairly modern which I'm looking for since the older places tend to have thin walls and older appliances that tend to break. I thought I found one (and the place is extremely nice) but the surrounding area is ghetto and the complex is surrounded by 2 train tracks that is active every hour (day and night)

James (is extremely picky)

I don't think so. Here's what I was looking at but the reviews on this place were all pretty much consistent= Nice appartments, bad neighborhood, security is a joke since gates are always broken/unlocked, and the train tracks on 2 sides of the complex are frequent + LOUD. I'm still going to personally look at it this weekend though but after reading all the reviews from different sites, I'm pretty much turned off. At least I know what to pay close attention to when I get there. LOL.

this is the one in newark i was talking about...lol my wife used to live there before we got married and the appt itself is nice, but as you said, the neighborhood is freaking ghetto....+ 2 train tracks right next to the appt complex...they have another appt complex right on paseo padre parkway which is 10x better than this one..go check it out i think you will like it, but it will cost you an arm and a leg for sure so get prepared.

Dang James, change jobs come down here.
Rent you a bedroom with private full bath, space in garage for you car and garage is all carpet to keep her warm at night , and only $8,000 per mo, or is that $800.00 And not to mention the garage is on the house alarm system, so she'll be protected. Bad guy

Good luck on finding a place though, with the way things are, you should be able to hopefully find something, with all the hurt on homeowners today.

Hahaha. Thanks for the offer Warren but Salinas is definitely too far for me.

I actually considered it but it was over my budget. I'm not a baller like you

What I really need is to find a trustworthy roomy so there are more options. Also it'll be better in terms of cost/size too.

Hahaha. I'm actually native to South Bay. I guess I'm just shocked at how high its gotten. I've been fortunate that my family could hook up some space for me but since my bro & his family are coming over from the PI. I definitely need to move.

Cool. I'll let you know

So since I'll be apartment hunting pretty much all day tomorrow @ Newark, Fremont, & Milpitas, any recommendations?

it's hard to find a good roommate man. Especially since you don't even know how long it's going to be...unlike college.

First, it's hard to find someone you trust with EVERYTHING you got.

Second, a good friend may not necessarily be a good roommate...you need to have lived with a person or at least stayed with him/her before to know... living habits and such.

Good luck bro.

(or just move up here to vancouver...I'll lend u the carrera gt )

So I just found me a place & will be moving in this week. Got a 1BR 1BTH in one of the new complexes at Rivermark in Santa Clara. Location is VERY nice!

For those who helped me with my search, thanks again for you help.

Good, glad to hear that James. Now get settled in, so you can come to the Carmel Valley/Pebble Beach Run in 2008. After all there was no Treasure Island, and now this one has reach the 100 plus. See, no excuses now.
By the way, once you're settled in, send me a pm when I can take my car to put on the TS Hood. See you aren't done yet... he he he

Thanks! I always try to make it out but the issue is with my work schedule. I can never tell until the last second what my schedule will be like. Yeah, TI was fun but all the original organizers are no longer active and not enough people to actually willing to step up to the plate to organize such a big event. I'm sure you understand that with your meet.
