Default Quick question, please read

Took the front wheel off today, and my brother noticed that there is a 12mm bolt on the front rotors, and it has like a spacer or something. Its bolted on the rotor, can this be removed? or what is it for, to push the rotor out when doing a brake job? Thanks.

you must be talking about the 6th wheel stud, that is not actually wheel stud? Looks kinda like a wheel stud but has no threads, right?

That's so somebody does not try to rotate the rear wheels to the front or vise versa.

It unscrews.
