Default This the season for Laguna Seca

The rainy season means only one thing to us trackhounds. Laguna Seca is open to the wannabe's like us. I just signed up for laguna with NASA on the 19th and am thinking about hitting it again with HOD again in Feb. Anyone else going to do the corkscrew?

HOw sad, you live soo close & yet know soo little!!!
Google Mazda raceway + Laguna Seca + Corkscrew

This is the world famous Laguna Seca corkscrew, it's basically in your backyard, this is the N. California track we have been going to for years to see the real Indy cars (CART), Superbikes, & MOTO GP, the Monterrey Historic races with vintage race cars. In all the years I have been attending races here I have only seen the superbikes and Alex Zanardi have the ***** to pass in the corkscrew!!

Corkscrew is the world famous turn at Laguna. It's a blind left right sequence that drops 3 stories and leaves your boys in your throat.

Aim for the middle tree upon entry, flick her right and drift the car down until traction is regained at the bottom. Check your shorts and repeat again at the next lap

If you ever get a chance to drive 'Seca DO IT! It is a very special track. It has a certain aura to it the moment you arrive. The corkscrew is a trip, I can't think of a more entertaining section of track!
Daveh, why so excited about driving 'Seca in the rain??

Are you Class C? I think I saw you at that Seca meet. I was in the M3 that passed you after lap 2.

Great to find another educated member on this exciting track in N. California, especially excited that you remember one of the best to drive a open wheel race car. I am still sad knowing that in the flash of a eye Alessandro Zanardi in Germany lost both of his legs. He is still driving in touring cars and I even saw that he recently ran in a champ car with his old team mates car Jimmy Vassar, another Californian. Would love to see his warm smile and love of the crowds, and who can forget the ORIGINATOR OF THE POST RACE DONUTS!!!

So being that you are from the local area maybe you can provide me the pricing and other reqs, so that I too can experience the corkscrew as a driver, a lifetime fantasy for me.

Feb 25th with Speed Ventures. $295+timing (I think $20) and $30 for first time driver instructions.

A couple of friend's having been running with SV for a while and they love it.

Is your skin light brown? Is your M3 dark silver with red leather? You're not married (no wedding band), right? That must have been you and your M3 giving me the point by on lap 2 then again on laps 8 and 13. Pfft, and I thought M3s were fast.

Another corkscrew pic and start/finish.

I'm moving to Montery, CA in June, and looking forward to running Laguna Seca. Mostly, I drive with NASA in HPDE's (3/4), but I hit up open track days occasionally, as well.

I have to say that I have drivine Laguna Seca on Forza Motorsport 2, and that corkscrew scares me! I hit high speeds on the straight beforehand, and never can time my brake point correctly. First time I go there in real life, it will be a slow lap!!!

I look forward to your move and you joining us for some events! As I'm sure you know, it is WAY different than the video game. Plus, you don't get a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., chance. You mean slow lapS...
