Just had my Mastergrade CF overlay put on. It was extremely easy, and it only took me about an hour from start to finish. Here are a few pics after its completed.
I still need to make a small mod to the front of the overlay though...huge thanks to Jim for the great prduct and fast shipping...
Sorry about the pics. Couldn't upload larger pics due to its size...
Is the overlay a rigid piece ? what was involved in the install other than just sticking it on...
Yes, the overlay is one, not rigid, but a flexible piece so you can adjust the overlay to the roof. I didn't really want to sand down the clear coat on the roof, so i opted to use 3M double sided tape to adhere the overlay. It does stick fairly well, but majority recommend an epoxy to glue it down. The front edge does stick up a little bit. That will be fixed tomorrow...
can you explain how this was put on and how it stays on? (adhesive?)
3M double sided tape. Basically, you just attach the 3M double sided tape onto the back side of the overlay and just lay the piece on the roof. Make sure you have something heavy to lay on the top, after you have the overlay on. The reason is you want to apply some pressure to the overlay so the 3M double sided tape could adhere to the roof. It works...
Finally, the whole top pieces of your car is now CF!!!! That noob that made the comment about the "overlay" hasnt seen you car all around, it flows very nicely with all the other CF stuff.
What's CF is NEXT? CF rear window spoiler/duckbill? hehehe
