I got them from Bell's Bike Shop, who is in Philly. I found them through price searching online. they sell through Ebay. best prices anywhere. the rims were 140 w/ formula track hubs, built (160 with the colored hubs). and he let me use his circular saw to cut my bars too

I also picked up a 46t front cog so once I slap that on, I'll be at 46/15. should be better for city, since the 48 is tall for velo duty. I really need to take pictures this weekend

That new road bike is sweet. I really want to grab a tri bike. or a tri-frame then build a fixed out of it. The Cannondale Tipo is my dream at the moment

that frame is gorgeous! I am not a huge fan of the trispokes, but they look aggressive as hell on your bike!

kudos.

No. i tend to stay away from downtown nowadays. usually ride in the park and beach areas and outer border of SF. i used to be a messenger a few years ago and i know what it's like to go high speeds cutting through traffic. fun yet dangerous.

did it happen while driving? i don't plan on leaving the bike on the rack while parked. i don't even park my bike anywhere. i just ride.

well, i'm sure it's a good idea to have a lock while on the car rack. might get stuck in traffic. just got to figure out how to lock it because the rack itself can also be easily removed.

i wasn't a huge fan of tri spokes as well. my original idea for my build was to get campagnolo atlanta 1996 rims or some shamals. something aero and silver. i love silver wheels. having no luck acquiring those wheels, i went with another idea.

i started looking at a ton of pics and the tri spoke grew on me. everyone had them as a front wheel and i only saw a few with them as a rear. i thought they looked badass as a rear wheel. i went with it and all i had to do was to get a radial laced front wheel. but, i came across a front Corima 4 spoke for cheap and new. so i bought it.

i had a disc wheel too. too heavy for the streets. fast when you get going yet hard to slow down.

i'm now looking into getting some Zipp's. a pair of 808's or a 999 set

^haha!

also, I bet that disc wheel was a ***** in a cross wind

I like the aerospokes but they are out of my budget right now and especially until I get a nicer frame, like your true track frame. those rear dropouts are amazing :P I am drooling still.

what Bianchi frame is that and did you get it new or used? price if you don't mind as well.

actually, i had no problem with the disc wheel during windy rides. didn't even feel a thing. i rode to the beach, so you know how windy it could get there, and had no problems. i think it would only be a problem if it was mounted in the front. plus, i'm slightly heavy. i could feel the wind slightly with my front 4 spokes.

my frame is the 2008 Bianchi Pista Concept. they are hard to get. i searched for 4 months and accidently came across one when i was with my friend who was shopping for bike parts. they had 3 and sold them in two days. i've talked to a couple people who took a year to finally get one. you can also find them on ebay, especially previous years. it seems they change the color every two years. the color i have is the only color available for 2007 and 2008. Bianchi added blue pearl clear coat for '08.

i get most of my bike parts at Ben's Cycles. They're like the mynismo.com of bikes. The price of my frame is on there too. there's also Glory Cycles and http://www.thebikebiz.com/

it's a Dura-Ace 7710 Crank w/ a JDM/Pro Dura-Ace Chainring. almost impossible to get the chainring. you would have to acquire them from a Pro track racing team.

if you want to know more about the parts on my bike, check out my VELOSPACE

inspiration for the rear wheel from this Concept:

i started to like the Hed 3 because it kinda looked like a ghostface.
