I love the chainring you got super slick looking, I am jealous. I have never even heard of Velosapce thanks and I'll check out your links to the shops.

I love the geometry of the tri bikes, but I love riding fixed I wanted to use a Tri frame to make a fixie, but I found that alot of the more modern track frames use the same larger triangular downtubes and such so I might stick to that.

Tri bikes are so sick though!

Here's my first fixie. Just built this up out of a vintage 70's Fuji frame. Painted it a semi-gloss black. Decided to mount a front brake for now.

changed up some components. now it's 17lbs, 2 more lbs than my previous set-up. damn heavy, but still ****in' fast. changed my gearing to a 47/15 too.

frameset is for sale. it's a 53cm. just bought the same frameset in 55cm.

how much you selling the frame for? I assume you are keeping the wheels/pedals, but are you including the cranks and chainring? (I want your chainring!) 53 is my size too...

I have been fiending over the Fuji Track Pro... the 09 model is simply sick:

the new rear drop outs are nasty

and how you like the 47/15 setup?

I have a 46/15 setup right now and I am spinning out on long roads. it's a city bike so I don't 'need' the higher speeds, but a lower cadence would be nice too.

mine is all for cutting red lights lol. I want fast acceleration.

your gain ratio is 5.72
mine is 6.22
Dimeryder's is 6.35

(these calcs are all done with 170 cranks and 700x25 tires) so yours should actually be easier than mine I think.

oh and I painted my bike last night.

I masked off and painted sections of the top tube and down tube to match my rim barrels (dark blue) and sanded off the logos on the frame. I drew a couple things on it with paint markers as well. I will take some pics, I think it makes the rims more integrated to the frame personally. I am going to add some yellow accents when I get the time also.

i have more torque than i do horsepower so hills are no problem. i climb low to medium grade hills quite fast. i'm slower while climbing medium to higher grade hills, but i can still manage. basically, i can climb the same hills i do on my geared MTB.

since my legs have torque i accelerate quick and can get up to top speed quickly. i can remain at top speed for a good amount of distance too. i still spin out sometimes on the straights with the 47/15 gearing. i'm going to make a big jump and and switch to 47/12 for the 60 mile straights. i'll try it out and work from there.

do you use this calculator RABBIT CALCULATOR

my friends whom i ride fixed with have tried riding my bike and find it a little more difficult yet they seem able.

i didn't like how the 47/17 would spin out every time downhill. 47/15 is perfect for me. i don't go too fast downhill because i go through so many intersections and SF streets are busy. depending on the circumstances, i rarely go top speed downhill.

also, i like odd number chain rings with my 167.5mm crank because there are more skid patches no matter what size cog i use. tire size is also included in the calculation.
