stockfor stock the Z is DEFINETLY a faster car and handles much better,(we are talking about a wrx here right? not STI) unless you are talking about 0 to like 30 when the awd launch helps, but other than that its a faster car

now a legacy, is a slghtly different story

but interms of cost/hp interms of modding, the subaru easily kills the Z...but then agian, i would never buy a wrx, just too small and too cheap on the inside, though the new one is better inthose respect, its butt ugly

as long as you dont miss the rear seats and the extra room

06' airbox with a good panel filter.

 

just get k&n filter for now and for the performance i think you should get exhaust or test pipe. exhaust and test pipe might decrease little bit of torque but you will get much more hp and if you get pig back then you should get alot more. but dont get intake or popcharger. its because Z engine room is really compact that it gets over heat. i raced TL-S. i smoked him before but after i got my intake, i got smoked.... if you really want it, i think you should get air duct too. i dont know how much it will help, but i suppose to help little bit tho... haha

You're not going to notice the JWT popcharger on the butt dyno, however the sound is very nice!

 

after exhaust you should get test pipe for sure. you will lose little bit of torque but you will get much more horsepower. you will like it.
i think for the z, you can get alot more power from piping. As long as you get right parts for piping, you will gain much more power. but dont waste your money on stupid stuff like intake...

i bought my car from folsom lake nissan and it already had a nismo intake and an HKS catback on it. Not to sure how these two mods effect the cars performance but it seems to do alright. But if the intake is making it slower than i want a stock one! and here i thought i was getting some nicer parts for free from the stealership.... ..

Really research the mods before doing anything... I wish I would have before I starting modding my Z, there are a lot of addons that don't do a dang thing for the power and just look good...
