I agree, Mt. Hamilton from G-maps looks easy in contrast to Calaveras which has a lot more hairpin turns. So I take it not everyone is interested in "adventurous" driving through Calaveras?

I was thinking of this route:
Niles -> Calaveras -> Felter Rd -> Sierra Rd -> 680S -> Mt. Hamilton Rd

We just flip a UE when we get to the top of Mt. Hamilton Rd instead going on to San Antonio Valley Rd.

Or if that is too long, tell me what other ideas you've got.

 

why not the original Mt Hamilton run? Niles > Mines > San Antonio > Mt Hamilton > 680N to get back to Fremont. Those who want a shorter run can flip a U after Mines and the rest can go on to finish the rest. Mines is a must IMO.

 

If you guys have time(and stamina!) I suggest going over the backside of Mt. Hamilton down 130 to Livermore...it's like another world! Plenty of fast sections. I led a run up there a few months back and it was fun!

 

130 = San Antonio Valley Rd + Mt Hamilton Rd

 

That sounds cool too. Might just do that.

Okay everyone here's the route! I'll post all final information on the OP.

If anyone else plans on showing up please respond in here (or PM me) so we can get an idea of numbers.

 

I still suggest earlier in the day so we have time to talk and decide what route to take. Besides I got something to do that night.

 

What time works for you then? 2PM? 3PM?

 

Hey guys depending on what time you guys head out I might not be able to make the run. Looks like I have to work tomorrow 6-12. I had a doctors appointment in the morning and I had to push it out to the afternoon. By no means do I want you guys working around my schedule, if I make it great if not I will catch the next run for sure...

 

Okay, meet time is still 4PM, departure @ 4:30PM. Couldn't go earlier because we'd lose Darkness 08. Hope you can make it Sid67jp.
