19 years here myself, 13 enlisted before I went to the dark side, as they say. Going to be here for two years to attend NPS out in Monterey.

 

I had two more friends went there for their school (language), (myself (Japanese, but actually went to college in Okinawa, Japan for it, naturally paid for by the USMC), left about a year ago. We stay in contact, as one day if they can get stationed by Eglin, AFB, Hubert, AFB, then, I'll try to get myself transferred to Fort Walton Beach. We figure it'll take a year or so, depending on their orders, have to be on station 2 years first. I'll actually be at the Retirement Ceremony being held at Fort Ord this Saturday at 8:00am. Never miss one.
We'll just have to draft our new Army Friend into the Corps side.
Actually I have several retired Army guys working with me here, we're all good friends. See you when we do.

 

Always room for "smack" Just joking. Hey, military is military, and I have some great friends, "Retired Army" working with me here. It'll be a good meeting for us to get together. I look forward to meeting everybody.

I think this looks like a good plan. Nice small group and by the way, bring 2 way radios if you have them. Not July 1st yet. Looks like you got a good idea here datsunhead.

 

I thought we were meeting in fort ord new shopping center?that way whoever comes from seasidw/montery doesnt have to drive from Monterey to salinas and back to Monterey again so I think fort ord is better....and plus you ever been to denny's at noon on a Saturday WHOLY CHIT its packed and nowhere to park.

+ Driveway @ Denny's is fairly high and most lowered cars will scrap front lip.
BTW: was that you I saw on Blanco Rd yesterday afternoon? I waved back. What time do you usually get off work? I heard that on Thursday's @ Baja Cantina in Carmel Valley has a lot of different cars (exotics, classics etc...). Have you ever been there? I think we should plan a meet there on a Thursday after work.

yea I work across the street from baja, they mostly have classic every once in a while the will have a Porsche meet or vette meet, and that was me I was on my way to work and I don't get off until ten.I'll show you guys where it is when we go eat lunch.

That's fine, but is anybody leaving from Salinas? That was if anybody left from Salinas to the Fort Ord Shopping Center. If anybody is in Salinas the idea was to leave here together and go to the Fort Ord shopping Center and meet all together. Didnt mean for anybody else to drive to Salinas.

Wow everyone is in a branch for protecting America guys. Mcarter101 want to meet up at nissan dealership in salinas at 11:30am then you can follow me to fort ord?how about everyone that lives in salinas meet up at the nissan dealership at 11:30am,then proceed to fortord to meet up with smackin.

 

its going to be sunny Saturday,perfect driving weather so dont forget 12 noon in fort ord new target/best buy, park in the middle where its a open area, and the salinas people meet up at salinas my nissan at 1130am then head to fort ord.see you there guys

Sounds good, yes, we plan to go. We'll get together during the week before here and than we can head up together. Thanks for the dinner. I had in the back of my mine to even consider the place as a good spot for a lunch for say maybe 70+ group. I wonder if they could handle that many, and if it was even logical there, or if you would need some kind of permit. I'll have to get with you on that. The food was excellent and that makes a run 75% great to have at the end.
