Lost by 4/1000 in the second round. had a good r/t and decent run, just got beat. I think I discovered the problem with the car though. Rob made big improvements last week, but the problem appears to be that it just doesn't shift fast enough at WOT so it runs up and hits the rev limiter. I am going to try lift and shift like a stick the next time. Still ran 13.1 with 1.9" 60 foot with those big azz 19-35-275 tires. it was 95 out there. As soon as it cools down a bit I'll stick the DR's on and give it another try. They are 17" tires with some decent sidewall height, so that should improve the times.

 

thought I would bring this thread back for anyone thats interested. Ill be heading out there the 21st if its not raining or the 28th if it is, but might head out to both so long as the weather agrees. If its not raining, the weather recently has been pretty good for the times.

I won last week, finally. My cars been super inconsistent, but I found an elusive vacuum leak and fixed it, now its so much better. Ive been several times over summer and havent seen you there at all, but ive seen a few other z's, at least one 11s turbo car and a low 13 car that was definitely not stock. It looks like the weather this week should be pretty good

 

My 350 is so loud now, I'd be that guy getting pointed at by the domestic guys with little muscle to back up the noise. No bench racing here, but I'd hope to run a low 13s, but who knows, as I've never run it before and would like break something and coast to a 16s slip. I can't this Wed, but next Wed is possible. When the 300 gets a new clutch, I'm going to launch that somabish like it's no one's business.

 

I have been out there, but not when it was hot during the summer. This is pretty good weather, so I'll try to get down into the 12's with street tires. I changed a few things since I've seen you.

 

same here. I see you got that stutter fixed, you know what the problem was?

 

It was the POS Stillen valve body. I have a Transgo VB now that shifts pretty much instantly. The stutter was caused by hitting the rev limiter while it took its time shifting.

yeah, I hate how the new autos really take their time after you tell them to shift, Im sure youve got 12's coming now that you sorted that out.

Yeah, the last few times ive been out there it seems like those guys have been self imploding. I only had to beat fast jack last time out in order to win, everything else was a slowing down by half track scenario.
